Has anyone been to Aruba?

Wondering if we should rent a car?

I've heard that the island is small - is it small enough that we won't pay an "arm & a leg" for using public transportation, or would a car rental be best?

    I agree.  H and I have been to Aruba 3 times and have never rented a car.  The bus was fine for getting downtown during the day.  Cabs were absolutely fine for going other places during the day and for going everywhere at night.
