    FI surprised me by saying it was his dad's 50th birthday party. He woke me up early in the morning with a treasure chest and it had a note, map and a latern. The note said today's the day it's really happening. I had no emotion because I was still practically asleep. Once it finally hit me I was crying. So I got ready and we went to Stone Harbor and kayaked to Champagne Island and went on a treasure hunt. The first chest was pictures and a note of us when we first met. The second was about us getting back together and the third was about how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. After I read the third letter that's when he was on his knee and prposed. Later that day we had the engagement party. :)

    I love my E-ring/Wedding ring combo! This is a pic I took on our Honeymoon. MH took me away to the Dominican for my Birthday. It was such an amazing vacation and I could not have asked for a better proposal. He knew that I never wanted anyone else to be around when it took place. The 1st 2 days we were there it rained so we were a little bummed. The 2nd night we were there he had an amazing dinner and I ended up coming back to the room and falling asleep. He woke me up to tell me to come out side since it stopped raining. Out on our balcony was a private hot tub. I came outside to see the hot tub filled with bubbles and all candles lit around it. I was also very happy that he didn't do the typical, propose on my Birthday, he waited until the day after.

    {Engagment story courtesy of our wedding website becase it's been a long day and I'm exhausted!}

    Our engagement happened on our 5 and a half year anniversary. We went out to dinner at the Ram's Head then headed to the movies to see The Hangover.

    Afterwards, we went over Graham's to watch television. Graham surprised Rachel by saying he had a scavenger hunt. The first hint took Rachel to chocolates. The second hint gave Rachel a stuffed animal, the third was 18 roses, the fourth was a gift certificate. The fifth and final clue was "A picture is worth a thousand words, find the picture with the thousands of cards." Rachel went through all Graham's football cards, and there was a picture frame, with a picture of the ring.

    Graham got down on one knee and told Rachel how much he loved her, and asked her to marry him. Of course Rachel said, "Yes!"

    Since Dan's birthday is February 17, he told me he wanted to celebrate his birthday and Valentine's Day together at The City Tavern, an upscale restaurant in Philadelphia where the wait staff wear period clothing from the late 1700s. At the back of my mind, I kept wondering if tonight was the night he would propose, but I didn't want to get my hopes up in case he was planning on doing it later in the year (we had been talking about marriage for the past few months). After a delicious dinner, we took a horse-drawn carriage ride around the block. As we turned a corner during the ride, Dan asked me if I was enjoying myself, and I said I definitely was. All of a sudden, he was down on one knee in the carriage with an open ring box in hand, asking me to marry him! I was so surprised that all I could say was "Omigodomigodomigod" over and over. He asked, "Is that a yes?" I said, "YES!!" and then I continued to say "Omigod!" over and over. Just as I said yes, the snow started to fall! The driver informed us that we were the second engagement to take place in his carriage that night! Must've been a lucky carriage! ;-)

    We didn't really have a proposal.  FI and I just started ring shopping and bought the ring together.  We've been together for ahile so this was perfect for us.  I adore my ring.

    My FI proposed this March. I had told him I loved Easter egg hunts when I was growing up, but we would miss Easter because he and I were going on vacation. I jokingly said we would have to have one on vacation. He claimed the logistics (carrying eggs/treats in suitcases etc.) wouldn't work. Instead we had one 2 weeks before we left - it never dawned on me our hunt was wayyy before Easter. After he went on a scavenger hunt for the eggs I hid, I went on mine. I got all the eggs - we each had a certain amount - and he told me there was one last egg on the table. So I walked over and there was a huge egg and inside was the box with the ring. He got down on one knee and proposed and I said yes!
