NWR Invisalign

I started Invisalign today! I'm excited, nervous, and in a little bit of pain, but I'm really happy that I was able to get the opportunity to finally be able to fix my smile. I only wish I could afford to help other people fix their smiles.

Not trying to sound like a drama queen, but I can remember being teased during elementary school and a few time during middle school and high school.

About a year and half ago, one of my fiance's friends wife made a comment to Jonathon (my fiance) about my teeth. She said, "I'm surprised you find Melissa actractive" and he asked her why and she responded "because she has bad teeth." Jonathon only told me after I asked him to please tell me if she ever made a comment about my teeth seeing as she has said some pretty rude and just downright ignorant comments to me. At the time, her husband and herself were going through hard times, they had just gotten married and were constantly fighting and in therapy. I think she was just trying to make herself feel better. I do resent her for saying that about me. She has also struggled with her weight and if I ever made a similar comment to her husband or her about her weight she wouldn't have went bonkers. I know I should forgive her, but deep down I hate her guts (please pray for me not to be so angry).

Anyway, I am really excited and I hope it works.

Re: NWR Invisalign

  • Whoa what a mean lady!!  Glad you kept it classy and didn't say anything!!

Thats great that you got invisalign!! I had braces from the time I was in 5th grade to 9th grade, went though all sorts of rubberbands, brackets, and headgear hell.  It really hurt but Im so glad my parents did it for me.

My crowding is pretty bad, so I have these things called "buttons" on my teeth that help move my teeth. You can obviously see them close up, but from a distance you can't see them at all. In 2 months I will be getting "bands" to help move my lower jaw forward to help minimize my overbite.

The other nice thing is that they have whitening kits you can purchase that go right into your trays and they help whiten your teeth and are also supposed to help with gum health.

It's just a lot of work because you have to wear them at least 22 hours a day. You can't eat with them in and each time you eat you have to brush your teeth, floss, and use mouthwash. So, imagine if you wanted to have a piece of chocolate... you would have to go through all the rigamoroe just for one piece of chocolate. With having to wear them for at least 22 hours a day it doesn't seem like you would be able to snack during the day.

The reason you have to be so diligent with brushing your teeth before putting the trays back on is because the tray can become like a greenhouse and cause cavaties and bacteria to grow twice as bad.

  • Idk.  Some comments just can't be unsaid.  I don't care how "bad" your life is at the time it's never appropriate.  As a freshman, FI's crazy ex talked so much ish about me (even before we dated) and said I sucked at track and didn't deserve to be on a college team.  Well, I've broken 4 school records and all my PRs are faster than hers.  It's just ridiculous.  She knows what she said.  I know what she said and it resinated with me and made me work harder.  For me.  The satisfaction is merely a bonus. So I said eff that "woman." Ugh but you seem to be a bigger person than me. ;)

I'm really glad you are getting your teeth fixed because it will make YOU feel better.  I had crazy teeth in elementary school and was constantly teased so the braces definitely helped with confidence.  I know someone who has invisilign and hasn't had any problems, she seems to really like them.  They don't seem too much more work than braces and should be so worth it.
