Wedding Bands?

Where did you ladies get your FI's wedding bands?  My FI wants a tungsten one and I have no idea where we should start.  TIA!

Re: Wedding Bands?

  • We got ours at the same local jeweler where FI bought my e-ring.  I'm a fan of local jewelers, I think the quality is so much better and the mark-up is lower than at the mall jewelers.

FI got Tungsten as well.  Also, if you want your rings engraved, don't believe a jeweler if they tell you that Tungsten can't be engraved.  It can, and FI's was engraved.  They couldn't do it in-house, but they shipped it someplace that could do it.

  • Just start at the mall jewlers....or where he got yours.  We started with the designer that did my ring, and then had to go to the mall to have him actually try some on....they are actually cheaper so we are going back to Zales to get his.

  • From what I've seen tungsten is gaining in popularity so I don't think you should have too hard of a time. We looked at Kay Jewelers since that's where my e ring was from but ultimately purchased our wedding bands from a local jeweler. FI had to purposefully look for options that WEREN'T tungsten because he was worried about resizing.
  • We just picked one up at Zales this past weekend.  His is cobalt but they have tungsten as well.

When we first started looking, I just began with googling all the chain jewelry stores.  I've bought jewlery from zales in the past and was always pleased with them, so that's why I ended up buying from them.

  • Thanks! The jeweler where FI got my e-ring doesn't sell tungsten rings (they're more of a specialty store).  I'll bring up these suggestions and try to find a place that we can get one. I feel like we're running out of time!

  • I ordered FI's off of overstock.com We went looking in the jewelry store and he was consistently drawn to the ones with the carbon fiber band in the middle. They were between $300-400 dollars. I got on o.co and found his immediately with blue and black carbon fiber (which looks really cool!) for about $60. I was down with that!

  • We ordered fi ring from buy.com. It had the lowest price and his size. It cost 45. His is the carbon fiber ring with red and black. We couldn't find anything like it in the stores.
