Sunday Funday!

McFly and I are laying around waiting for FI to get back from his bachelor festivities.
I guess I'll be working on centerpieces most of the day. I'm getting more and more stuff done every day!
Yesterday I picked my dress up from Becky! Bridal pics on Friday!

Re: Sunday Funday!

  • How exciting!  More bar studying for me all day....then dinner with my mom, dad, and son.  FI has to work late.  AW, though, I paid the deposit for the McGowan's yesterday!!!!  SO EXCITED THAT WE GOT THEM!!!!!

  • Congrats on the big checks, both of you!

Not much going on here today.  We are headed up to Frisco for Father's Day with my family around 1 and then back home for the remainder of the day.  Still lots of cleaning and organizing to do.  Life after our wedding has been AW-less, lol!  I need to see if I can get rid of some of this wedding stuff though.  The clutter is driving me INSANE.

  • Had a bachelorette party last night for one of my sorority sisters. I didn't drink at all and I'm so happy I didn't. Also, I dislike Austin.

  • Not much going on here. Going to get groceries and cook alot of food today in case I have to work those three 13 hour days. I hoping my DM will let me put off firing my ASM until Tuesday than I will only have to work one 13 hour day. I think I'm going to go to Michaels and look at card stock for a DIY project I have in mind and my daughter needs her hair colored so I will do that too.

<div>I've never been to Austin - why do you dislike it?  I've only heard good things about it from most people and we were considering going there for a day or two in a few months.</div>

  • if the job market (for me) was better in Austin, we would probably live there. More opportunities for film for FI.
Unfortch for me, UT has an amazing business school, and because so many students love and choose to stay in Austin, the job market for CPA's is SO fierce.
And we LOVE all the outdoorsy stuff there.
  • I've only been to Austin once, and it was on business, but I didn't like it either. It's so freaking humid! I walked outside and immediately felt the need to go back inside and shower again....that was in February.

H and I are about to walk out the door to go to my grandparents, have lunch there, then head out to H's grandparents.
    Busy day.

  • Hmm, I didn't realize Austin was so humid.  But duh, it's not that far from Houston and Houston is notoriously humid, so it would stand to reason that Austin would be as well.  I don't think I could live there, but I've heard its a great place to spend a weekend between all the cool bars, unique restaurants, and nature stuff to do just outside of the area.  Obviously we won't be going to the bars, but the rest of it still sounds pretty cool.

The thing I hate most about living in an apartment is that I have no choice in my appliances.  Our oven is from HELL.  I am known in my social circle for being a great baker (wow that sounds really stuck-up, but I don't know how to phrase it better).  My cupcakes put sprinkles to shame, and family and friends have me bake things for their parties and such.  Anyway, ever since moving in, everything I bake sucks.  This stupid oven is super hot.  Last night, I burned a batch of cookies, even after turning the temp down to 50 degrees less than what the recipe called for.  Today, I tried to continue my quest in finding the perfect wedding cake recipe and slaved over a 3-layer cake this morning.  Put the pans in the oven at 50 degrees lower AND 1/3 less time than the recipe called for and ta daaaaaaaaaaaa.... overdone cake.  WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • I'm just not into the whole feel of Austin. The whole, hippie, vegan, ultrahipster attitude that a lot of people have. Don't get me wrong, a lot of my dear friends live in and love Austin, but I just don't feel it. Food? Awesome. Music? Awesome. Everything else? Dumb. Also every time I go, something bad happens to me. Case in point: I got rearended on my way home today!
