started moving in with FH!!! (:

So.. my wedding is Saturday (hooray!) and we signed our lease for our apartment yesterday!

it was sooo strange putting OUR stuff in OUR apartment! seeing this huge bed in the room was soo surreal! i have NEVER lived with a boy before... i have ALWAYS lived with girl roommates (most of the time.. like 4 of us in the 2 bedroom apartment haha).

Its weird to think that next week we will be sleeping in that bed together and i will be a wife! hehe. it has hit me already... but its still strange.

any of you feel/felt like this?

I felt like that, Monica! It's still kind of weird and we've been here for three nights now.

I HATE moving. I am SO not looking forward to having to move while finishing planning my wedding. [rant: And I really wish all everyone who thumbs their noses at couples who live together before marriage would just acknowledge the stress "doing things the right way" adds.] Glad to hear it can be a positive experience.

My wedding is 15 months away and I'm already thinking about how I might as well start cleaning out my apartment now. I was buying cleaning supplies over the weekend and almost bought enough to last me the 2 years I've already been in my apartment before I remembered, "I'm moving in 15 months at the very latest. No reason to buy more than a year's worth of supplies."

i am glad that FI and i did things this way -- and waiting to move in together after the wedding.

I just told a guest who was checking in... (i work front desk at a hotel) that i have never lived with a boy sooo i am VERY excited and nervous. He literally laughed at me! ha. ha.

i am completely happy with my decision to wait. i understand that not everyone does it this way... but thats okay with me. (:

i cant wait! i am excited for all the firsts!!! (:

So exciting!! I'm just moved into our apartment, but FI wont move in till the wedding. Even so, as soon as we moved in both of our families kept calling it our place and asking what WE were planning on doing for different things. It was exciting, but really weird to think about. Also, multiple times in the last month people have been talking about things and have made comments about Erin (new last name)!

Yay for only 3 more days!!!

Just so you know, moving really does suck. Even if you get everything all ready beforehand you're gonna have lots of wedding gifts and crap to put away. Haha. :)

Thank you, Mrs. Brist. I know this is something like gym class - Everyone has different feelings and that's OK. It's just something that really worries me, and I wish people talked about it more.

I just moved into our new apartment this past Saturday! I even got to stay there on Monday night as we had a meeting with the photographer and the apartment is so much closer to my new job than driving home an hour late that night.
It is a little crazy... and full of empty boxes and things without homes... but it is lovely and that is where my oh-so-soon-to-be husband is :)
Three days! Good luck! I hope you are fighting off the nerves and really just enjoying the excitement! I know I am!!!
I just cannot wait to be a wife :)

I've never shared a bed with someone -- when our family would go on trips and stay in a hotel, I always got put in a bed with my mom, but I could never sleep. I had to move to the floor before I could fall asleep (something about another person being under my blankets) I'm a bit worried about this -- I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep with someone else in "my" bed!

I (kinda) know how that is.  A couple weeks ago, FI and I went to look at the house he'll be moving into soon, and started talking about moving my stuff in over the months until the wedding.  I won't actually be living with him until after the wedding, but we figure it'll make the move easier if we do it in gradual steps.  Besides, I'm still living with my mom in the same house we've lived in since moving here in '94, so...  I have about 16 years' worth of stuff crammed into this tiny space I call a room.  Lol...

I've worried about this, but then I remember college, when not-morning-person-me had a roommate who got up each day at 5am. I learned to sleep through it. Most people learn to sleep through the other's snoring (but be careful, 'cause the sleep-deprivation involved can be "contagious." If it bothers you, fix it.). But there's nothing wrong with easing into the marriage bed. Observant Jews sleep in separate beds their entire marriages. You can do that for awhile, and there's ways of making the bed with separate sheets and blankets for each side. My future husband and I are actually planning on separate bedrooms because of his sleep apnea.
