bartender rules?

Having my wedding and reception in a friends backyard. Planning on buying our own alcohol, but hiring a bartender to serve. Just wondering what the rules are as far as the bartender/serving. Do we need some kind of license?

    I'm pretty sure if you're hiring a bartender to serve they should know the rules/regulations of that - I think just make sure that they have some sort of insurance licence (not sure how it works if people get hurt due to intoxication - it might fall on homeowners insurance???
