Two questions: pianist for ceremony, and hair/makeup

Hi ladies,

I'm getting married at The Grandview in August, and I have to unrelated questions: first, any recommendations for a pianist for my ceremony? This person would have to bring their own full-size keyboard, though  as a piano player myself, I'm willing to look into purchasing one. I have three relatively simple piano pieces I would like them to learn, and then the rest of the music would be classic/classical pieces as guests sit down before the ceremony.  The only people I've heard of so far are the Capriccio Ensemble.

Second: I've scheduled hair and makeup with Studio One in New Paltz, but reading all the good reviews about Christine at Color Makeup Studio has me second guessing myself. I wanted hair and makeup by the same company/person... does anyone have experience with Studio One?

Thanks so much!

I wish I had an answer that was helpful!

We met with the Capriccio ensemble. They are a wonderful set of musicians! We ended up going with the organist at my church, but had we "hired out", we would have gone with them. I went to a ton of bridal shows and honestly don't recall coming across any other ceremony musicians. I'm sure I did, but Capriccio is the one that is the most "known"

As far as hair and make-up, Christine (and Jill) do a great job as evidenced by a bunch of girls on this board. But they both are only make-up artists, you would need to find someone for your hair.

Sounds like you want to go with one place that does everything, definitely see if you can get a trial at New Paltz to ease your fears. I'm sure they will do a great job!

And remember, you don't need to have Christine to do your make-up, other companies can do a great job too!

And you will be a beautiful bride!!

I had a harp player for my wedding. I can give you her infomation if you are interested.
I had christine do my makeup and I was so thrilled. I highly highly recommend her!  I wanted someone who specialized in bridal makeup, not a hair stylist that can do makeup when they have a bridal party come in (like some salons do, I am not saying Studio One does).  You may also want to check sometimes salons let outside makeup come in.
The day of my wedding I didn't want to travel, so I had hair and makeup come to me.
