Allergic to Roses?

My Mother in law is allergic to roses, I have said no roses to the florist but I want to line the aisle with freeze dried petals... Anyone know if that will be a problem for her allergies?  Would hate to start the marriage off with making my Mother in law sick.

Re: Allergic to Roses?

  • I'd say find another flower that has pretty petals.........carnations, tops of baby's breath, something else.
  • usually people are allergic to the pollen in flowers...petals should not have any pollen on them. I would suspect you would be ok using them....BUT.... some your mother in law could be freaked out just because there are "Roses"   more the mind game thing going on.  Why don't you just use some silk petals.
  • Yes. it can bother her allergies.  Potpurri will bother me when it contains the flowers that set off my allergies.  I skipped the flower petals totally because I was worried about someone slipping and falling. I have seen that happen at two different weddings.
