Highlawn Pavilion - West Orange, NJ

Has anyone been to a wedding here or had their wedding here? We are booked for October 2010 and are very excited.

The food is amazing!Shyne - have you had any concerns about the set up of the room?  That's my main source of anxiety.  Also, where are you putting your music?

Yes the room setup is a concern of mine also. I'm worried about everyone being able to see everything. I think it will be ok though.  The DJ will be on the side of the dance floor.  He is also supposed to be setting up plasmas on both sides of the room so everyone can see the slideshows and stuff.

That should work.  I'm hoping mine will be OK as well.  We have a 10 piece band that we're putting at the bottom of the dance floor, so kind of near the staircase when people come up.

    Hi Bianca
If you put a a band at the bottom of the dance floor, where was the bar set up in this case? We are struggling where to put a band ( also 10 piece) and from where to make an entrance during the introductions.

We would love to set up plasmas as well but our band doe snot have them so we have to rent somewhere else

    Hi, there!

This is a rather older post, so the original poster might not be around to answer your question. Going back a few pages is always a good idea, but too far and you might lose a lot of the posters.

If you don't see a thread that addresses your issue, feel free to make a new one!

I have been there for company parties two years in a row.  The food is similar to the manor.  We had buffet and I can't think of anything that really stood out, pretty standard.  The lobsters were served disgusting, split in half in their shell, uncleaned floating in their own green juices....EWWW.

The layout of the room would be a concern of mine.  The company put on a presentation we could barely see because the room is L shaped.  If you have a small guest list this can work, otherwise people will be out in left field and have no view of the dance floor.
