I am pretty sure I am leaving something off of my list but below is where am I in the planning process.

    Done/Booked:

    Venue
    Photographer
    Videographer
    The Dress
Event Designer (florals, tablescapes, draping, lighting, etc.)

Booked but details still yet to be finalized:

    Transportation
    DJ
    Caterer
    Cake

    To do:
    Invites (receiving samples now)
    Guest list
STDS (if I send these it will be late February)
    Shoes
    Jewelry
    BM Party attire
    Wedding day look (hair, MUA)
    Registry
    Ceremony details (readings, music, etc.)
    Room blocks
    Dress accessories (beaded belt, veil)
Dress alterations (need to set up appointments)
    Hire DOC

I hope to have all of the above done by May 31st.

    Love is the ultimate superpower.
It can make you weak and strong simultaneously.

  • Florist looks missing to me, as well you probably should order BM dresses sooner rather than later. My salon suggested by the end of Febuary so that they come in by the end of June begining of July then it's super busy wedding season and gives them lots of time to do alterations.

I dont know if you're sending save the dates, if you are you should design and order those soon so you can send them out at the latest 6 months prior to the wedding (March).

As for you DIY list, are you doing escort cards or a seating chart? You could design that as well and if you're just going to hand write them you could print them as well.

  • Like Bridezila said, FLORIST!! Those get snagged up FAST!
I'd say work on the guest list sooner rather than later too. You're not gonna be able to do STD's or invites without that. It will also help you plan for every other little detail that requires a head count. Room blocks can get tricky in my area if left too last minute, so maybe do that sooner? It's really simple too; send off an email and you're half way done!

I don't have all the ceremony details eked out yet but the invitations are ready to be put together. I have to get all the DIY stuff done by mid May because cottage season will start and I'm not missing time on the boat for crafts :P

  • Other than the florist I would say you missed that might be relevant are escort cards, favors, hotel block, BM gifts and gifts for parents or others who have helped a lot, special songs for reception, are you writing own vows?  Rehearsal dinner, what to wear morning of that can come off without wrecking hair, reception flip flops?, guest book, night of wedding hotel, toasting flutes and cake cutting set. . .   Sadly the list will keep growing before the list starts getting shorter again.  From a bride who got married last September, just relax and have fun.  Try to get a few more DIY things done now, and then during school it will be easy to find 20 minute here or there to pick the songs for the reception or to make a list of the must have photos.  Looks like you are doing well and just keep the list so you do not have to try to remember it all.

  • You also don't have your hair/makeup booked!

  • Alright you guys helped me out a ton.

I ordered my escort cards a long time ago from VP and forgot that I had them. I want to do chocolate covered pretzels for favors and then tie the escort cards on the the favor. I am waiting from my reception hall to see if thats okay since the pretzels are "brought in food" and homemade.

As far as flowers I have decided DIY. I am not sure if I want to do real ones or fake ones. I did a run through with real flowers over the summer and they turned out nice. I am not sure if I want to spend Friday morning working on bouquets.

I am doing my own makeup because I am a freak about it. My girlfriend who does hair has agreed to do hair at my house the morning of.

    Thanks guys!
