FI was originally going to rent a tux with a tie, but he's thinking he may get fitted for one and buy it now. He will need a tux maybe once every 3 years. It might be worth it.

Tim rented his. He's not a "dress up" kind of guy and would never have use for a tux.

It might be better for him to purchase a formal suit instead of a tux, that way he has the option of wearing ties vs. bowties.

My H and the groomsmen bought suits. We figured they'll all be in each other's weddings and made the most sense in the long run. We got a great deal and each suit ended up being less than tux rental and they get to keep it.

Many places have deals where if you rent so many tuxes or suits through them, the groom gets his free. I know Mens Warehouse definitely does this, but our local bridal shops do too!

FI bought his tux, now he has it to wear on formal nights during the honeymoon cruise (and future cruises).

My FI is using a suit he already owns, it was fitted for him and matches my dress perfectly. the only thing we bought was a vest, which we got incredibly lucky on. It was supposed to be like $80 but when we went to the store they were having a sale and we got the perfect light blue vest for only $16.

N bought a suit from JCPenney - he got it on sale for about $150. It was such a good deal, and now it's nice because he'll always have a nice black suit to wear for other occasions.

My FI is going to buy his tux. He will have it for future formal events plus there is just something not right about getting married in a pair of pants that are not yours. Plus he will be able to have the tux fitted perfectly to him instead of having pants that have an adjustable waistband, etc.

Our plan is to get it during one of the Bloomingdales or Saks friends and family events that always happen in the spring.
