Need Food Ideas while waiting for ceremony

My wedding is this Saturday and we are doing the First Look. The ceremony is at 3:30 but the BP is getting there around 1:00. We might need something to munch on while waiting. Any ideas of what to have that won't ruin the dresses?

Re: Need Food Ideas while waiting for ceremony

  • I have suggestions what not to get.  Don't do anything with a dip, or marinara sauce.  I'd suggest light finger foods - like finger sandwiches or mini bagels with a flavored spread, maybe some fruit - fruit is great for energy and simplicity, but make sure you have forks and plenty of napkins.  I hope your day is wonderful.

I was actually trying to think of the same thing earlier today. I came up with: fruit salad, finger sandwiches, cheese and crackers, cut up veggies, and water bottles.

  • Any other ideas? We'll need snacks from 5am until 2ish (decorating and getting ready). I thought about deli meat and cheese and buns for sandwiches, since my BP will need lunch, too.

  • Pretzels, finger sandwiches, fruit and veggies, water or sprite, meat and cheese tray, salads, cookies but be careful which "flavor"

I agree with the napkins and forks.
  • Finger sandwhiches, bagels, fruit, cheese and cracker trays, and water! There will be something for everyone and nothing messy.

We're planning on munching on cheese, crackers and fruit while we're getting ready. Easy, not messy and will keep us going!

We're also planning on having a big-ish breakfast so this will be more of a snack.

  • My bridesmaids and I will be having donuts and mimosas while getting our hair and makeup done at a salon the day of the wedding. We may even opt for lunch since the ceremony begins at 6:30 pm.
  • We are going to have breakfast together, and then while we are getting ready (hair/make-up goes from 12-4) we will be snacking.  I bought trail mix, fruit snacks, and cookie snack packs.  I am also going to get a fruit tray, and a cheese, meat and cracker tray.  And most importantly lots of water!

I plan to send the flower girls (3 of them) to have lunch with their father (my FBIL) before they get their hair done.  That way they can eat a full meal and not be grouchy.

I also put a small bottle of wine in the gift baskets I did for everyone, so they will have that to drink and relax.

  • we are having cheese and crackers, a fruit tray, a veggie tray and anything else the girls bring (I told them if they want something specific to bring it or to let me know and no one  has said anything), we are still looking for something with more protien to keep us going...might get chicken nuggets with a mayo (instead of tomato) based dipping sauce, and eating those before we change...I havnt decided.

  • I am getting bagel stuff from Panera and mimosa stuff for while we are at the salon getting hair and makeup done and fruit and such for my house while we get dressed.  I plan on getting the guys a sandwich tray delivered to where they are getting ready.
  • My best friend's wedding was last year, and we stopped at Dunkin' Donuts to get bagels in the limo after getting our hair/makeup done. It was fun to get all of the looks & questions from the other customers! We also had mimosas at the salon. =)

  • In terms of the fruit that everybody keeps mentioning...I'd stick to bananas, they aren't really juicy they're the cleanest fruit to eat without getting crap all over yourself and good for energy. I'd be too afraid to eat any other fruit in my dress, all of them are too juicy and colorful!
  • Anything without dip and that has the size of a bite.
  • Fruit, yogurt

  • Don't get anything that will stain your teeth. And definitely remind everyone to bring toothbrushes!

I agree with all the other posts. Cheese, crackers, fruits (be careful not to stain anything though), light finger deli sandwiches. Etc.

  • Protein bars are good too. Kashi, Special K, Nature Valley. They aren't messy  (except for some crumbs...so use a napkin bib!) and they give you that energy to keep going.
