chevy chase bridal

Has anyone had a good/bad experience with chevy chase bridal?  They have my dress cheaper than other places I've found it (Two by Rosa Clara) but I wasn't sure how good (and expensive or inexpensive) they will be with alterations -- any input would be helpful.  Thanks!

I went there when I was shopping, I ended up going a different direction.  However, I was impressed with how low pressure and friendly they were.  If I had decided on a Romona Keveza, I would have bought from them.

Just remember that you don't have to have alterations the same place you buy the dress.  Two local independent seamstresses, Estee and Angie, always get great reviews for the quality and price of their alterations.  We used Estee, but I've never heard anything bad about Angie, either.  Contact information for both of them can be found at this link.

I bought my wedding dress from there - also a Two by Rosa Clara! :) I got mine during a trunk show back during the first week of May. Not sure when you're getting married, but I think I saw on their website calendar a while back that they're having another trunk show in October or something.

I worked with Leeza, the store manager. I went there because I saw the Two by Rosa Clara trunk show ad and really wanted to see if they had a particular style available. She was absolutely wonderful. My mom was working that day and she really stepped in with a maternal feeling. However, she was a bit sales pitchy when she saw that I was starting to crack for the dress, but immediately stepped back and let me leave when I told her that I needed to talk to my mom and think about it for a bit. The dress I tried on was not the dress I originally wanted (in fact, it actually fit my ginormous hips better than the original AND was cheaper to start with). I had no intention of purchasing that day but it was on sale, it fit me better, it was the designer I wanted, and it was the third store to stick me in that particular dress - the stars just aligned and I figured it was a sign!

I came back later that afternoon and purchased the dress (Cabo). I'm getting it altered there (I think it was a flat $450 for any and all alterations) just because I'd rather not drag the dress from store to alterer, etc., although I'm sure that you can get it done cheaper somewhere else. I did ask though, and the seamstress (Elsa) is full-time there and also has her own side/at home business as well. They also only charged me a flat $80 tax, which was less than the actual DC tax. Including shipping from Spain and tax, my dress ended up costing less than the original dress I wanted at MSRP.

Overall, highly recommend Chevy Chase Bridal, based on my experience thus far! I love that it's a new boutique, not too big, not too small and has a modern, open feel. I also liked the selection of other dresses I tried on in addition to the Two by Rosa Claras and most of all, Leeza and her daughter Saleha are wonderful wonderful.

I got my dress there too and also worked with Leeza. She is absoultey the BEST. She's the nicest person you will ever meet (which was refreshing becuase the other bridal shops I went to I found that the sales people were not that friendly). Leeza gave me the number to a woman named Elsa to do my alterations. Elsa was friendly, affordable and very professional. She got my dress done in record time and I couldn't be happier!
