Saratoga During Track Season

Yup - we're getting married in Saratoga on Aug 13th. May not be the best idea I ever had, but I really wanted an August wedding...

So I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same boat or has done this before? We still need to get a band, flowers, and the photographer booked - but is it really hard to book these during that time of year?

Finding a blick of hotel rooms was a NIGHTMARE to say the least...

    Were getting married in Saratoga during track season and i'm not all that concerned about it. Are you getting married this August 13th or next? If it is this August then you really need to book the big stuff soon! Where did you end up getting a block of rooms?

    We got the rooms at one of the newer hotels at exit 12 (Fairfield Inn, I think? FI booked those). Problem is they promised us 25 rooms but now they are only giving us 15...

    So we're going to have to ask friends in town to host some out-of-town guests in their guest rooms. I feel bad asking, but we don't really have any other option!

    What counts as the "big stuff"? We have a venue, and that's about it...

    I just asked my photographers Scott and Lisa and they are still available - they said track season doesn't make much of a difference except for hotel rooms and parking - you should check them out! www.scottkretschmann.com

    There are a couple of photographers that live right here in Saratoga and do an awesome, awesome job!  One is Heather Bohm-Tallman (www.hbtphoto.com) and the other is Tracey Buyce (www.traceybuyce.com). They both do phenomenal work!!  I have no idea what their prices are.

    If you're using a DJ, or wanting to, call Total Entertainment in Glens Falls. They are an excellent group, and are one of the groups that jumped in to help those brides/grooms that had booked w/the company in Clifton Park that vanished w/their money and no services.  Couples were left high and dry days before their weddings - these guys were called the night before the wedding to be held out in Central NY - threw they're stuff in the van and off they went.  Stand up guys -

    Track season in Saratoga should not affect the availability of vendors.  The only thing I can see it affecting would be a room block regarding the availability of rooms and the pricing.  It also may affect finding a place of the rehearsal dinner, so I would book that as far out as possible.
