NWR - Treasure Island

Hi girls!
My fiance's family and I have planned a vacation over Memorial Day week to Treasure Island (14 people in total). Does anyone have any insight into the oil spill issue and how it would affect our vacation? I wanted to see if I could get some local opinions instead of being scared off by every media outlet.

    So far the oil spill hasnt't affected my area. I am in the sarasota area..which is 45 minutes south of Treasure Island.

    Nothing here and I'm in Clearwater about 30 minutes north of Teasure Island. Enjoy!!

    The oil plume is 275 miles west of St. Petersburg. 

    I don't know what part of Indiana you are from, but the distance from Indianapolis to St. Louis is 275 miles.  That's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way.  So those of us who live in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area are not concerned about the oil spill affecting our beaches.
