Anyone tried DDP Yoga?

http://www.ddpyoga.com/site/index.php/en/

Anyone have any thoughts, reviews, warnings, or anything to share about it.

There was an article on yahoo this morning and it looks pretty awesome.  i think a few of you were talking about it before.

Re: Anyone tried DDP Yoga?

  • It's just another yoga-hybrid. I don't care for this to be called "yoga" because, while it uses yoga poses, it defeats the whole purpose of TRADITIONAL yoga.. lol.
THAT being said, I'm sure it's excellent! I'm all for anything that focuses on cardio AND strength AND flexibility. That's a serious triple-win.

My only warning, from what I have heard regarding DDP, is that you should practice all the yoga poses they work on, beforehand. That way you can know your body's limits and comfortability markers. It's all too easy to push yourself past yoga for health and into yoga-induced injuries. But you have done quite a bit of yoga, yourself, haven't you? If so, I'm sure you will have nothing to fear because you will already know your limits.

Looking for something to mix up your routine?
  • i haven't done much yoga and was never professionally guided so I just refer to it as my "stretching routine"  ;)  Very basic and nothing too dynamic but if it keeps my joints loose and limber I'm all for it.

I'm always looking for something new.  I get bored so easily and am super-picky about dvd workout.  i have a bit of an eclectic taste in such things.

Remember Tae-Bo?  Yup.  I have it on tape.  Along with the Slide Reebok video, NYC Ballet, 30DS, Insanity, p90x, Bridalicious Bootcamp, Latin Grooves workout..

    I'm a weirdo
  • hahaha No, that's a good thing! It means your muscles never have a chance to memorize stuff and get bored. I have a tendency to find something and stick to it forever until I absolutely hate it from doing it too often. -__-

  • That's no fun.  Variety is the spice of life!
  • Hey, I think someone over on SB was asking about this earlier...maybe you should ask over there.

(Haha, just kidding. I just felt like being a smartass. I know you only asked here because Mara asked on SB.)

OMG, right? Me too. I'd be, like, level 4000 by now.
  • I have. I've been doing the program regularly since May 26 2012.

    I love it.

I wrote a review of it in what I feel is plain language.

Here's a link, check it out. You won't be sorry. After all, when I started I was pending knee surgery and could do it. 11 days after surgery I was able to get back to doing it.

In 30 days I lost 15 lbs (now it's 20) and 16 inches (now it's closer to 18): simple and effective.

Yes, you can purchase the program on my site or you can go directly to it. I thoroughly enjoy it. Especially the weight loss, and my new flexibility!

When you're living your life at 90% "Down-Dog" is a resting pose.
