Looking for a Place for my Reception & Ceremony Waterfront on a Budget in Hampton Roads. I live in Newport News  and wanted something close by. I'm on a budget and need to find a place soon. 8/29/2010 will be here soon.

Look at the Yorktown Freight Shed, it is right on the riverwalk in Yorktown on the beach

Lesner Inn is right by the water.

Officer's clubs are very affordable, but you will need a military sponsor to use their facilities, but that are all on the water: Shifting Sands Beach Club, Seabreeze Beach Club.

Half Moon in Norfolk is on the water as well, not the oceanfront but right on the Elizbeth River. halfmoone.org

I noticed someone mentioned the Seabreeze Officers Club already. If you look at the pictures online the place looks really run down. However, I went to go look at the place and absolutely LOVED it! They just finished renovating the whole place and replaced the entire deck with a new one! I'm getting married there on June 5th and it is such a deal! They don't charge you to rent the place, only require that you spend a minimum of $5,000 on food and beverages from their catering service. I'm having a 200+ guest wedding ceremony and reception there for under $10,000! If you have a military sponsor I highly recommend it! Good luck!

If you are still looking for a location. Check out Byrds by the bay. They are in the yourk county/seaford area. Not sure of your wedding size. But you may be abe to have the ceremony on the pier and your receiption in their indoor/outdoor area.

My husband and I just had a wedding at The Yacht Club at Marina Shores (July 10, 2010).  It was great.  They have an all inclusive package but we did not use all of the vendors in the package.  The Caterer was really great, the food is fantastic(Creative Catering) and our wedding cake was to die for, the baker Mrs. B is a lovely lady and gives you just what you want with a little added extra touches.  You will be more than pleased plus, she is very reasonable.  Her business is Cheesecakes by Mrs. B.  You can google the yacht club, it is in virginia beach, va.  I know you are in newport news, but this is a great venue.  It will only hold about 120 people for an outside ceremony and 145-150 for the reception inside.   Hope you find something real soon.  If you want a great photograher, Bill Murray with digitograhpy onon is  more than fantastic, his pictures are the best that I have seen around.  I went to plenty of bridal shows. He did an awesome, awesome job on our photos.   If you need a DJ, H & R Entertainment featuring Heston Wong is awesome, awesome and just more awesome!!!!   Good Luck!                                                  L.
