Welcome bag delivery go smooth or did you have issues?

After the last post, I think it was Gina's, I am worried about our welcome bags being not given to our guests at check in. Those bags will have a decent amount of stuff in them and stuff that I want the guests to have, so I'd be really ticked if they didn't get them.

I suppose we could just go to everyone's rooms after they all arrive, but I'd much rather have it done with before guests arrived, and I thought it'd be a nice little surprise when they checked in, and it could turn complicated trying to figure out when everyone is in their rooms to deliver to them.

Most guests so far are staying at Mandalay Bay or The Hotel at MB, 2 couples are at Tropicana, one at Aria, and my parents at The Signature at MGM.

Any experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I thought the exact same thing! What about giving them out at your meet and greet?

Sara you are a brave woman! I don't mean to be a negative nancy but I was way to busy b4 the wedding to do welcome bags.  Keep in mind if guests are arriving on different days or even times, that may be a hassle too. I would too just hand them out at  m&g if you can, but then guests may go out after the m&g (not back to their room) and potentially have to carry them around...I hope that someone posts about how they successfully handed our their welcome bags to help you!

Yeah I don't want people to have to carry them around so M&G is out.  When I want to accomplish something though hands down it'll get done so I'm not worried about getting to the few hotels at all on Wed..  Most of our guests are flying in on that Thurs. too...

I swear in the past I've read reviews that some brides had fine experiences with this, so hoping those people will post...

Tip the front desk staff well? or speak to the manager/supervisor and tip them well? just an idea as it seems money talks in Vegas!

A lot of hotels will not deliver the package to the room but rather will leave them a message that they have something at the front or bell desk.  If your guests don't know how or don't want to check their message on the phone, they may not get it until check out.

I work at a hotel and we find the welcome bags all the time after the guests check out-- not touched. I like the idea for the map/Strip info, but it might be a waste??? Not sure..............................

yes, Sara, it was my recent review where this did not go well.  First of all, it was a much bigger pain in the butt than we thought it would be to take the bags to the diff hotels (esp Mandalay Bay...the process there is insane!), and then a lot of people did not get them until check out, or even at all.  I'm still not sure why...all of the hotel people assured me that they do this all the time and it wouldn't be a problem (after i paid a fee for every bad of course), yet obviously it didnt work out so well.  I was really disappointed as I spent a lot of time and money on our bags.  In hindsight, I wish I would have just given them to everyone at the welcome dinner, or not have done them at all.

Thanks for the responses everyone.  I think we are going to drop them off at the hotels other than MB/The Hotel, tip them, and stress the fact that they need to get them, check on it later.  And for those that are staying where we are, at MB and TheHotel, we'll just hand deliver it to them as most are on the same flight so far.  I'm making it happen one way or the other damn it!:)
