My shower....

This weekend I had a shower hosted by my dads family. I didnt really want to have it, but my grandma and aunt insisted. We had 12 people RSVP yes and 3 cancelled last minute due to not feeling well.

It started out really quiet, and i was afraid for a very awkward next couple hours. We had lunch, and people were chatting and it was good. I didnt eat much, I didnt feel very well, but thought it was nerves or awkwardness and let it be.
Then we played a few games, and it was fun! We played a spice game, where you had to guess the spice in the bottle. I failed miserably.
After we started the third game, i felt terrible immediately. I got up and ran to the bathroom. And promptly threw up. And the bathroom was right off my grandmas living room, so everyone definitely heard me. My 11 year old cousin made a comment "Guys- i think Liz is throwing up right now."
I was so embarrassed. I felt better immediately and kept going and had a lot of fun. but it ranks high up on the embarrasing moment scale. Luckily no one brought it up, but still.

ETA: im not really looking for advice or anything, just sharing my lovely experience and wondering if anyone else cane relate.

Re: My shower....

  • Oh my gosh, I wonder what it was... just nerves? Something you ate? At least it got you feeling better!

Oh no! Are you feeling better now though??? At least it was your family- does that make it less embarrassing??

I'm glad you had fun despite getting sick. It looks like something has been going around for a while. Yuck!

ETA: I would have left immediately. I am such a baby when I throw up. I'd probably end up crying and asking my mommy to drive me back home. You are brave! Ha!

  • HAHAHA omg, sorry - but that is terribly funny (now). But I'm so sorry to hear that that happened. At least no one dwelled on it. My mom would have made a huge fuss and been like "GET THE BRIDE SOME WATER. SHE THREW UP! ARE YOU OK?! DO YOU NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!?" even if I was totally fine the next minute. hahahaha

Oh no!! I'm so sorry that happened! Haha great timing huh? Maybe your nerves got the best of you when you didn't realize it. Glad everything worked out well though and no one made a big deal about it! Nothing like someone dragging out something you're trying to get over quickly and not bring more attention to yourself lol :)
  • well I'm glad you're feeling better & that no one brought it up =)
  • It may have been embarrassing at the moment, but it's now an awesome story!

Glad you still had a good time anyway!
