Not Engaged Yet

Pre-Engagement Vent

My rings are out, but is the e-ring on my finger?  NO!!  It is in a safe deposit box at least until the appraisal comes back and the ring is on the house insurance.  UGH!!

We are supposed to go on the 18th for engagement pictures, but to me it's not offical until he proposes and gives me the ring.

Am I nuts for thinking like this??

Maybe you shouldn't have scheduled engagement photos before you got engaged. Just a thought.

Yeah, I have to agree with PP. You shouldn't book engagement photos before the actual engagement. My BF purchased my ring 6 months ago, and still no proposal... I can be a bit BSC from time to time what with imagining venues and the band and food etc, but I would never actually book anything before the official engagement.

That being said, as others have said in the past, being engaged is simply an agreement to marriage. No ring is necessary. So do what feels right but do not take engagement pictures before you are engaged. How are you supposedly to get bling shots if you have no bling?

Yea I agree that getting the photos before the proposal may not have been the best. But a ring is not a required part of the "agreement". So it's either you've both agreed that it's happening and you flow with that or it's not an official agreement without a proposal.

Most of the time if you have to ask that kind of a question, you already know the answer. Just sayin.

<div>This. Unless you two are actually engaged but have agreed you won't wear the ring until the appraisal comes back, you never should have booked an 'engagement' shoot in the first place. Cancel that appt.</div>

Why did you schedule engagement pictures before you were engaged?  I feel like common sense is lacking here.

<div>Completely agree pre planning is bad, cancel the appointment.  Enjoy life and the anticipation of the proposal.  Find a hobby keep yourself buys in other ways.  </div>
