Which Would You Choose?

We are big NY Ranger fans, especially my FI.

For our wedding, we are adding just a touch of hockey (having a hockey jersey to sign instead of a guestbook).

I am going to add a little surprise for him..which do you think is better?

A NY Ranger ice sculpture or a NY Ranger jersey groom cake?

    I say cake too. Like PP's said, it's something other people can enjoy and is more worth the money (to me).

    Cake, although that cake is ugly.  At least a groom's cake is traditionally supposed to represent the groom (right? IDK--we don't do it here).  An ice sculpture should somehow tie into the decor or look "wedding-y", IMO.  Unless you're having a Rangers themed wedding, it will look weird.

    I'd prefer the cake.  I have this secret suspicion that my FI is planning to have some type of race car related grooms cake since racing cars is my hobby.

    I think a food product is more practical than a decoration that will disappear as time goes on.

    So, unless the ice sculpture is a liquor luge, I vote cake.

    I mean, technically, you COULD eat the ice sculpture. But at some point you're going to have someone licking something that could be looking a little odd, so I'd just go with the cake.

    I like the 2nd cake better. Def would go with that...unless the ice sculpture was one of those ones that you shoot liquor down and wait for it at the bottom.  total class. ha.

    Side note: I just saw the NY Rangers play the Florida Panthers last Friday night. The Rangers stomped the Panthers, and FI got irritated that I always cheer against his team whenever we go to pro games (I've been a Rangers fan since I was 10 years old, come on!).
