Reception advice...

Should we provide other activities besides DJ? I've heard of hiring entertainers, photo booths, carnival games...

Is it just me or are guest expecting to be going to the circus!?

I want my guest to have a great time and I want it to be memorable for everyone, but all this extra stuff is going to blow my budget!

How can I end up making my wedding memorable?

Instead of renting an actual booth, we're having a tripod set up with a "clicker" so guests can take their own photos.  We'll have some props and backgrounds available.  Then, we'll post the photos online and everyone can print out their pictures.

A photo booth is a popular idea.  But games and entertainers are for a kid's birthday party IMO, not for a wedding.  All people need is good food and music to have a good time.

I catch myself saying this a lot "I'm planning a wedding, not a birthday party"  Even my MOH has to remind me of that sometimes. ha!

ITA with Natalie.  Oh, but I did want to add that if you are having children at the wedding, having something for them to do (like a puzzle, coloring book, etc.) is perfectly fine.  The adults should be able to entertain themselves and you shouldn't have to provide anything.
