How long to wait for pics?

My FH and I had our e-pics taken Sunday, June 5 and were told it would be 2-4 weeks before we got our pictures... well, it was 5 weeks yesterday.
I sent a friendly note to our photog last Wednesday and was told I'd have them "very soon," I inquired as to whether that meant days? weeks?  and got nothing.

I understand its a very busy time of year for her, but my expectations were that I'd have pics within 4 weeks, I feel very let down and disappointed.

Has anyone else had to wait this long? Had a photog that didn't deliver on time?  how did you handle it?

I would probably wait another week. If you don't hear back, perhaps try calling and actually talking to them. Just say, "Not trying to be a pain, but I was hoping to get them soon so we can send out STD's (even if this isn't true, it will put a sense of urgency on it). Do you have any idea when we might get them?"

If you can't get a hold of them or it's been 2-3 more weeks, I might show up to their place of business (if it's an actual business and not their home) or get a little more forceful on the phone/e-mail.

It is very important as a photographer to give your clients a realistic timeline for delivery. I do not blame you for being upset. If it is going to take 5 or 6 weeks then they should have quoted you 5 or 6 weeks.  I've had to pull some very late nights in the past to deliver a client their images on time, but I did it.  It's very important to me as a professional.  I get that thiings come up, but he/she should be open with you if there has been a problem either personally or professionally and give you a clearer timeline for delivery.

Yeah that is definately not professional...if they don't have a very good exuse then I would never hire them again for anything.

Hopefully you even get pics at all! I know that sounds like a nightmare... always trust who you hire!
