  • Welcome!  Thoughts/Notes:

    1. Read Anna's sticky at the top of the board.

    2. What are you currently eating and doing for exercise?

    3. Cleanses are terrible for you.  It's hard work or bust around these parts.

  • Try changing up your workouts or adding some weight lifting to your workout plan.  Weights help to build muscle, which in turn burn more calories!
  • i have already added on to my cardio two weeks ago and started lifting 10lbs instead of 5lb weights...meal plan simple breakfast: eggs turkey bacon banana lunch:yougurt sandwich on a thin bagel and pretzels dinner: meat and veggies and salad and and 2 snacks

All of this. You need a change up it sounds like. Time to make a change to your work out routine and/or eating habits. Try some new cardio or use heavier weights (if you exercise). If you don't exercise, start.

Do you track your food intake? Are you eating a resonable amount of calories to lose 1lb per week?

  • What are you doing for your cardio exercises?  It sounds to me, like mari said, a change in routine (workout and food) might be your best bet.
Also, do you have any hidden calories anywhere?  (I'm thinking in terms of any mayo or anything on the sandwich).
Finally, do you track your sodium at all?  While it sounds from the high level like you eat well, it also looks like a meal plan that could contain lots of sodium.

  • according to fitness pal i should be losing 2lb per week so i am guessing i am gaining muscle...i really REALLY dont want to change my eatting its hard enough for me as it is...and if i hate something i will bomb it...so maybe i am not getting enough water and can compensate there?
  • Ang how many calories are you eating?

  • If you're slated to lose 2 lbs per week your body may be slowing down because it's hungry and it thinks you are starving so it's not burning calories. I would maybe change your calorie intake to losing 1 lb a week versus 2 lbs a week. You may not be eating enough, which is just as bad as eating too much. I agree with Lobsters about the sodium and "hidden" calories. Are you tracking every single thing? And yes, always drink more water. However, water isn't going to make you lose weight.

What kind of cardio do you do and how often do you do it? Lifting heavier weights is definitely a step in the right direction. You should be lifting weights so heavy that you are struggling to get thru that last rep (12-15 reps per set). If you can get thru like 25 reps then you need to be upping your weight even more. Lifting promotes fat loss.

  • There's no need to eat food that you just plain don't like - this is about changing your lifestyle so by forcing yourself to eat food you hate, you'll stop as soon as the weight is lost.. which is not a good thing. That said, trying new foods is good for you too, and you can actually acquire a liking for food that you haven't been eating just by exposing yourself to it repeatedly. Just small tastes, smells, etc. can help your body decide that you may change your mind about that food. It's quite interesting, and actually works for most foods!

Now. You said you don't want to change your food. There have to be things that you can change up about your diet that won't be terrible?

breakfast: eggs turkey bacon banana  -
can you alternate between this breakfast and another? What if you had oatmeal/cereal and a greek yogurt (still get your protein in)?
lunch:yougurt sandwich on a thin bagel and pretzels - What's your sandwich contain? I don't eat sandwiches very often because when I eat them, I like them calorie packed. And salty. Deli meat is one of the saltiest things on earth, I swear. I had no idea until I started tracking sodium. But if you're using something else, this could be good. Do you eat 100% whole wheat or another whole grain bread?
dinner: meat and veggies and salad - I don't see a problem with this, besides the fact that you could get pretty bored pretty fast. Check out www.skinnytaste.com for some great recipes, has really spiced up my low calorie life.
2 snacks - what kind of snacks are you having?

Someone else mentioned your sodium intake - I think you should check that out. I know that super salty food tastes good, but once you start lowering your intake, your body will readjust and you won't need the salt anymore.

I'm sorry if that wasn't helpful at all... I feel like it was fairly discombobulated.. But I do know that when I change up my food, I have much better results with my weight loss. It's like our bodies get into a rut and we need to pull ourselves out of it!
