PP cost for a candy bar

My cousin is trying to start a small party business and I'm trying to help her out by gathering info about price points and what is included for a candy bar.  If you had a candy bar what was the cost per person.  What did it include?  Did someone set it up for you or did you do it yourself.  Any help would be appreciated.

Re: PP cost for a candy bar

  • Yes, we did one and it was a huge hit.

Estimate about 1/2 lb per person total

We had rock candy on sticks, salt water taffy, M&Ms, sour peach rings,, non pariels etc.., eight either different varieties in large jars tied with ribbons in the wedding colors.

We got the candy from www.mccandy.com and the jars from www.cheapjars.com The florist set it all up and used flowers so it was a visual delight as well.

I think it cost about $3.50 - $4 per person

  • I am doing everything myself, and have everything purchased and ready to go.

For the candy, ribbon and paper (to make lables), pint take out boxes, streamers to make the cute little tassles for the boxes equals to about $3.50-$4.00 per person for me as well.

You also need to factor in the cost per use of other elements used.  Table(s), linens, candy jars, candy scoops and tongs.  Other add on items can include lighting, flowers, baloons, confetti, etc.

And since this is going to be a business, don't forget to include the cost of doing business including TAXES!!!

Just a rough estimate, I think she would need to charge around $700 before tax for a crowd of 100 to pay for her time and make a small profit.
