Ok so fiance and I are meeting with our deacon for the first time in a week or so. I have no idea what to expect. He is only available monday thru friday from 8am -1pm so we had to schedule on presidents day since we are both off this day. How many times do you usually meet with your priest or deacon? I dont have a lot of time off available since I am taking it for the wedding. Also any suggestions/help on what exactly the process is? Im kind of nervous.

I had 2 initial meetings with my priest soon after we got engaged, and then one meeting just before the wedding to go over details. Our prep stuff was done with a sponsor couple though. We had 3 meetings with them.

He'll probably just want to get to know you and explain the whole process to you. No need to be nervous!

we had an initial meeting, plus three meetings after that with the priest. he always met with us on Sunday evenings.

We had a first meeting and a few follow up meetings after that. One involved discussing the FOCCUS test and one he just made sure we had everything we needed ready to go.

We're not doing an Engaged couples weekend or meeting with a sponsor couple or anything. So we're meeting with our priest about every three weeks from now until the wedding. But we both met with him for spiritual direction before the engagement and we know him really well, so its natural for us to meet with him so often.

We had our 1 day marriage prep class where we took our FOCCUS and then we've met with our Deacon twice. We are getting married in my hometown so we've also met with our priest there twice and will do so once or twice more. Our Deacon went over our FOCCUS as well as our Living Your Strengths results. I felt both meetings were great with him.

i've already had 2 meetings with our priest and i think we have just 1 more to go over the ceremony details. the initial was very informal, then the second if where we did our interview and filled out the paperwork. i've had to go during the weekday for both meetings. i know it's difficult to take time of work but it's important.

I really hope I dont have to go during the week:( This is super important to me but I honestly dont have any time to take off. At my office we get a certain number of hours we can take off and 2 weeks of it has to be prescheduled. and the last 5 days are sick days. so I took time off for my wedding and my friends wedding and I already used part of my sick days because I got the flu:(

My cousin is a deacon and he is the one marrying us. We just have to meet with him once to go over the results of our foccus, which will probably be done over some beers. All we had to do was take a foccus which was like a half hour long then we have to go to pre cana in June for 3 hours. We got off EASY!
