Wedding Woes

Netflix Users

If you use the streaming feature, this website is awesome:

http://instantwatcher.com/

It will tell you what comes onto instant every time a new one is added.  I just put it into my Google Reader, b/c there's usually around 50/day.  There's also a neat IPhone app that tells you the most popular for the day.

Thank you!  I hate that it always seems to show the same movies/tv shows under "New Additions," and I never know if anything good is being added unless I already have it in my dvd queue.

  • Awesome!

Also, are you familiar with the Roku player? BFF just got one, so she doesn't have to stream and watch shows on her laptop.

Yep, the Roku is what we got my dad since they don't have a gaming system to use for streaming.  They're really great.

ILove, if you don't already have one, Sony makes a Blu-Ray player that also streams Netflix or Blockbuster. That's what we picked up - we like multi-taskers.

I have one of these BluRay players as well.  Apparently is also streams Pandora, but I've never used it for that.

The Pandora is not great, but I think that's Pandora's problem. Anytime I try to stream from something other than the web or the desktop player, it stops and starts and freezes and is generally annoying.

Which is a shame, because I would love it on my phone if it ever worked.

    Thanks for sharing this!!

I have to admit, I am still a little angry with Netflix over them taking "Spartacus" away when I had three freaking episodes left.  Bastards.
  • Interesting. Our blu-ray player is sucking big time, so we may just do this deal. I am also a fan of the multi-purpose!

My brother has a Roku.  I wish I would have known about it before we bought a Tivo.  He can browse Netflix from the Roku.  You can't do that on Tivo.

I was going to mention that TiVo Premiere also streams Netflix, amazon, and blockbuster. Also youtube, which is fun.

But it's true that you can't browse. You ahve to add stuff to your instant queue via the computer or some other interface, then access it via the tivo premiere.

I generally add stuff to my Instant Queue first anyway, just to save time.
