Madison area

Looking for a good reception place in the Madison area. We are on a budget, and looking for some place with outside catering. I found HyVee is pretty inexpensive, for a 3 entire buffet dinner its about $14 a person. Ideas needed! Please!

-Thanks!!

It really depends on how many people you plan on inviting.

I've heard good things about the Lussier Family Heritage Center.  And I know Turner Hall lets you bring your own cater, but I don't know much else about them.

Have you checked with Hy-Vee to see where they have catered in the past?  That might give you some good leads.

Before we picked our reception hall, we looked at Turner Hall and liked them. Like Pod0512 said, you do get to bring in your own catering. I don't remember prices but I know it wasn't that much. They have a second room off of the main room where your reception would be that they would have the buffet be at that you would have to pay for. My sister had hers 6 years ago at the Knights of Columbus off Verona Rd where they got to bring in their own catering. That was a nice place.I also know people who have had their receptions at the VFW on Cottage Grove Rd where you get to bring in your own caterer.  I would recommend deciding on how many people you plan on inviting when looking for a reception place as some may not be big enough or may end up being packed with your buffet.

I know Badger Farms allows you to bring our own caterer. I am haivng my wedding at the Lussier Family Heritage and they give you a list of caterers to pick from. I know if you have a caterer in mind that they haven't used before, all you have to do is talk to Linda about it.

This place allowed outside catering - http://www.jewishmadison.org/section.aspx?id=1273

Most of the places we looked did not, or wanted you to use their prefered caterer.

I'm having my wedding at the Goodman Community Center on the East side. It's super affordable and you can bring in anyone you want for food (no additional charges, unless you're using one of their kitchens).

    Hope that helps!

Thank you all so much for the help! We are trying to keep to a strict budget. So we are looking at the cost of things first.

I'm using Knights of Columbu and so did my cousin. Our dad's are members, but I believe pricing is still good for a budget if you aren't members. They'll let you cater in but not beverages. Max people is 300
