Bridals by Roma

How have everyones experiences been with this shop?

I read several bad reviews before visiting but still went because I heard they had a big collection...to make a long story short I bought a dress I saw at Hollywood (after I bought it) for $400 cheaper I brought this to thier attention and they were unwilling to work with me. They then told me I needed to pay $125 to order a bigger size and my seamstress later had to alter the dress three times to make it smaller. Tonight, I went to go pick up my dress and they told me I could not take my dress home unless I paid $75 for a bustle which I told was included...the saleswoman told me to talk to the the manager by phone who  told me that they would go in the back and RIP it out if I was disputing the charge and then  sarcastically said "have a nice wedding" and hung up on me.   The saleswomen then tried to call the owner and was unable to reach him. I am so upset- isnt picking up your wedding dress sapose to be an extreamly happy event?  I paid the amount because I did not want to leave the dress there and wait to speak to the owner in fear they would do something to my dress. What would you girls do at this point?

Honestly, I have never heard a good thing about that store.  If it was me, I would just pay the amount, take my dress and run!   You can speak to the owner and see if he/she will do anything for you but at least you have your dress.  Sorry you are dealing with this, and I hope it works out.

I thought they were very rude as well.  I'd call  the owner and see what can be done. Do you have any paperwork supporting that the bustle was included? I got my dress at Bijou Bridal and I had everything included written out for me.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this.  I had a great experience there (although I know that really means nothing when someone else is having a bad experience), but I remember that my bustle specifically wasn't included in the price of the dress.  Alterations other than bustle and cups were free, but I paid extra for those two things.
If it makes you feel any better at all, my bustle held all night, even after my husband stepped on it a million and one times.  I hope you get this straightened out and manage to enjoy the dress.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this, I have been in your exact shoes and it was awful. I agree getting your wedding dress is supposed to be the best experience and they clearly make it awful and don't care.

I had an absolutely horrible experience there, similar to yours. They honestly do not care one bit about making you happy, they flat out don't. I even said that to them at some points, like don't you care if the bride is happy? They didn't even acknowlegde that.  They really don't care so I honeslty would not expect anything from them at this point.

The manager Joanne there is the WORST, she is the most AWFUL person in the world - seriously - she is the worst customer service person I've ever had to deal with in my life. She is extremely childish and rude. In my situation she told, sorry yelled in a nasty tone, at my mother and I and told us that we were crazy and insulted us (and told me there was nothing wrong with my dress - I took it to 2 other Bridal Stores and they all agreed there WAS something wrong). She later of course came to deny this.

You won't get any recourse from the owner unfortunately, I was never even able to speak to him, they made me deal with Joanne the whole time. I tried to dispute the charges on my dress through American Express but unfortunately lost that battle. I've now filled out a claim with the better business bureau, I don't care if I don't get my money back at this point, I bought a new dress and it was worth every extra penny I had to pay. If nothing else it goes on their record. I would say to fill out a claim with the BBB after your wedding, if only for the satisfaction.

I would just say to cut your losses with them, if you have your dress. Its unfortunate that you had to pay the extra money but at least now you never have to deal with them again. Go somewhere else with your dress if you need anything else done.

For other girls that have not gotten their dresses yet that are reading this, please learn from this, this store is horrible and only cares about getting your money and nothing else!

I'm sorry you had to deal with this, I hope you can enjoy your dress, try not to focus on it before the wedding and afterwards fill out a BBB claim - Good luck! I feel for you, trust me, I hate that store with a passion, seriously the rudest people in the world.....

Oh and post your reviews everywhere after too, that's what I did, it brought me some small satisfaction, maybe some bride will read the reviews before going there to get her dress.
