flowers for non specified bp members?

FI and I are each having only one attendant each- my sister, his brother. Not for even sides, we just want it that way :)

We have a close friend who is throwing me a shower, will be doing my hair, makeup, has been a rockstar about the whole wedding- offering to help address invitaitons, no less! I would like to honor her on the wedding day, perhaps with a corsage? My mom and gma will be getting corsages (FI has very little family) and they have no problem with it.

We have another close friend who will be doing all the ceremony music for us, and I was wondering if we should get him a boutonniere along with FI, groomsmen, dads (again, no complaints).

We will be getting these friends gifts, but I wanted some way to recognize them on our wedding day, as well.

I'm probably over thinking this, but I know you'll set me straight, help me avoid any etiquette pitfalls, and offer suggestions. TIA!

    Maybe not a corsage, but a nosegay (small bouquet with just 3-5 flowers) they can take home and display in a bud vase.  Some younger people feel like corsages are for old ladies.  But, you would know your friends better than I.

    I think the flowers are great ideas. You may also consider putting them in the program.

    I do like the program idea.  There are a lot of moms out there nowadays who loathe the idea of a corsage- in that it makes them seem to be in the grandma category.  And if it's wrist, they feel like they are going to prom.

    Haha, good to know- it was my mom who actually suggested the idea of corsages at all :)

    We haven't quite decided if we're doing programs yet- it's a small, "casual" wedding. Ceremony at our college chapel and then dinner at our favorite upscale restaurant, with a whimsical, joyful feel. If we do programs, it would be along the lines of
    "6:00- Get Married
    6:30- Pictures, pictures, more pictures!
    7:30- Eat, drink and be merry!"

    Or something along those lines (wording not exact, just general idea :-P)

    However, I definitely appreciate all the ideas.

    My mom wants a mini mother's bouquet. I like the idea. She didn't want to wear something on her wrist or pen anything on her dress.

    Check out the corsages in my bio, I think they're really nice.  It's more of a wrist cuff than a corsage.  It works for us because all of our flowers are going to be fake anyway.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
