Wine Box Activity...

Hello,

I'm thinking of doing a wine box activity rather than a wine box ceremony.  I want to have a table with a box and sheets of paper.  People will be able to write wishes and advice, etc.  They can place them in the box--we'll put the wine in the box and seal it.  We're thinking we'll open it up on our 10th Anniversary.  Does anyone think this is a good idea, or has anyone done this?  Please let me know!  Thank you!

  • I think it sounds like a cool idea.  You could have it set up at the reception so people can take their time to write notes/messages and put them in the box.  You could display something in a pretty frame next to the box that explain what you want them to do and what you're planning to do with the box.

  • Can you wait 10 years? That was my first thought. I would want to read what people wrote a lot sooner than that. I have a need to know though . . :-)

Yeah..I was wondering if we'd be able to.  Hopefully!
  • You could open it on your 1st anniversary, or 5th.  It doesn't have to be 10th, just do whatever you want.

  • I really want to do something like this at my wedding. But I agree I dont think I could wait till 10 years to open it. Id love to see all the well wishes and thoughts sooner. Maybe we will read our notes every anniversary... But I love this idea.

We did this at our wedding.  We had the box with pieces of paper on the table with the placecards. We will be opening it on our one year anniversary.   I am not sure if many people put messages in the box or not but we will find out.  They did this at my husband's friend's wedding that we went to a year before ours.  It was a smaller wedding and everyone wrote a note.  Then they had guests hammer in a nail closing the box.  We didn't do the nail part just the message part :-)
