Sandals Resort?

Hi all. We really want to go to Bora Bora, but we have agreed that we will wait and go there for our first anniversary. We want to save up money before going there. Anyway I was looking at Sandals. I was wondering which is the best one to stay at for our HM. They are so many to choose from. I wanted to see any of you have gone to any of them and what your advice/opinons are. Thanks.

We've been to three. St. Lucia Grande twice, Negril Jamacia and Grande in Antigua. Reviews and pics are in the link above my siggy pic. HTH and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

I've been to Negril and The Royal Bahamian twice.  I thought Negril was nice, but nothing super special.  I'd say go to the bahamas.  For us, it was a direct flight and really easy to get to.  I'd love to go to one in St. Lucia, but it's more expensive and there's no direct flights from Boston.

We've been to La Toc, Whitehouse, Emerald Bay, and Royal Plantation.
I LOVED all of them but they were each so different.
St. Lucia definitely has the most to do outside of the resort.  Emerald Bay had the most amazing beach.  Royal Plantation (which is much much smaller and intimate) had exceptional service.  We visited each resort for different reasons and had different budgets each time- so we worked with our travel agent to figure out what resort best had what we were looking for and what we could afford.  I'd suggest finding a Sandals Specialist in your area and chatting with them about all of the different resorts.  (Otherwise I can send your our TA's info.  She's an online agent- so super easy to chat with/email with.  Just PM me if you are interested.)

We went to Sandals Antigua for our HM and it was beautiful.

OP if you're looking to go to Bora Bora, but wanted to save money to go for your 1st anniversary, and want to do the Caribbean instead for your HM I would suggest looking into other resorts other than Sandals. Sandals is very overadvertised and overpriced. They're beautiful resorts, but you can get so much more for your money somewhere else. Friends of ours paid more to honeymoon at Sandals in St. Lucia than we did to honeymoon in Fiji which is craziness to me.

If you're looking for an adults only all-inclusive look into the Couples resorts, Secrets Resort, Palace Resorts, and Excellence resorts. They have locations all over Mexico and the Caribbean and you'll get much more bang for your buck ;)

Thanks all. And yeah when I looked the other day I figured that much out. I would rather go to Bora Bora for the price of the sandals resorts. I was thinking bout resorts in Mexico too cause it would be way less expensive. But he is driving me crazy cause when we talk about it he is consantly chaing his mind. Last night he told me he would like to go to Italy. Ugh men! lol.

Awesome thank you for the info. I believe that is where we might end up. Is there anything there that you suggest that we do/see?

There is a ton to do in Mexico. I think it has almost more to do there then any of the other Caribbean destinations. Depending on what you want to do there are a ton of Mayan ruins. Both close and far away. Tulum is right on a cliff right near the ocean so you can go swimming and then look up and see huge mayan ruins. If you are looking more for adventure or activities you can swim in a cenote or go to Xplor where they have a zip line course with 26ish zip lines. Some of which land in water which I though was awesome! There are eco parks where you can go snorkeling and see the fish and plants and more fish. You can go swimming through caves. You can swim with a dolphin or many other animals that are available. If you go to Cancun you can party all night long and visit clubs and bars. If you stay in Playa Del Carmen they have a lot more night life too but they have a ton of culture and is very close to all the excursions. It just depends on what you want to do though.

I would love to explore. I have been to Cancun and Cozumel for my senior cruise but didnt really get to enjoy it much. My FI has never been to mexico. I really want to make the most of our tip and have tons of fun. We are both the outdoor type of people and love exploring new things.
