Hey Ladies:

We got engaged this past weekend!  I am so excited!  We want to plan it for next summer and are looking at September.  Is this crazy?  Is there enough time?  I know we will have to move fast.  We are meeting with the venue on monday.  They have 2 september weekends free.

    Congrats! And no way It's not too fast! I just got engaged at the end of Sept. I came on here and felt so far behind everyone else who has been planning for a while. Once we set the date I got right to work and everything so far besides our difficult engagement photographer who bailed has ran pretty smoothly.The key is to stay organized and to not spend too much time thinking over all the ideas you come across. I went Wedding crazy at first because of all the different ideas that looked really awesome, than one day I decided to go through and delete or throw away anything I knew I didn't have time, money, or the style I was looking for which helped narrowing things down.

    Phew!  I've been a little stressed!  Number one goal is to get the venue booked before the holidays (I'm sure there will be a lot of engagements then!)

    Congrats!! Welcome! And you definitely have enough time! Sure the time will fly by, but people have planned weddings with less time! Just be sure to make a budget that's doable in the time frame and then go from there. Happy planning! :)

    Congratulations and welcome to the board Caleo! Nope you're not to far behind at all. Just make sure you narrow down a budget asap and the work on the biggest things that book up first: venue, caterer if applicable and photographer. Don't stress!

    Congratulations Caleo!
    Remember to enjoy the "Engagement High" a bit too :) That nice newly engaged feeling goes away soon enough anyway so enjoy it whilst you can.
    Like everyone else said I think a Sept wedding is totally doable! Just make a list of what has to be done and start checking them off as you go.
    Hope you enjoy the wedding planning :) Although it seems totally overwhelming at times it can be tons of fun too!

    Congrats and welcome. Y'all will be fine. I feel behind all the time and have other people telling me I am going to be all done with 6 months to go. Sincerely doubt it, but the moral of the story is, you have TONS of time. We all still have a zillion things to do and plenty of time to do it in.
