First Dress Appointment!

Hey y'all! I have my first dress appointment tomorrow at Emma's and I"m pretty nervous/anxious/excited/worried. Is there anything that I should know about going to a bridal salon?

Don't bring too many people. Too many people=too many differing opinions.

Wearing underwear is a very good idea.

Be open to trying different styles even if you are sure you don't want it--I refused to try on anything with lace and I regret that now. And don't bring a million people with you.

I agree to be open-minded. I did NOT want a big princess dress, but my mom convinced me to try one on. I still didn't think it fit my style but it was FUN to flounce around in it a little bit, and it solidified that I wanted a slim-fitting dress.
I brought only my sister and mother and it was perfect. Any more and it would have stressed me out.

Take lots of pictures, try at least 1 or 2 dresses outside of what you think you might really want and have fun! After trying on the first dress the nervousness will go away

I agree with everyone else. Don't bring too many people. I just brought my 17 yr. old daughter and I did try on dresses that really weren't my style. It was fun. Enjoy it!

I'm only going with my mom and MOH, so hopefully my mother (who is EXTREMELY opionated) won't get too carried away. Do most places let you take pictures? My MOH got married last year and bought her dress from Bliss, they wouldn't let her take any photos until she actually purchased the dress.

Mockingbird, David's Bridal, and Alfred Angelo all let me take pictures, but only if I was wearing the dress, which is fine because why would I want a picture of it on the rack?

I've heard some places won't let you take pictures of certain labels. It's good to ask, of course.

Emma's was great. They seemed to have a pretty large selection, and I GOT MY DRESS! For some reason, getting the dress is making all of this wedding stuff feel real.
