Whhich venue was your Rocky Mountain wedding at?

My sister had her heart set on the Kicking Horse Resort in Golden BC, but it sounds like it is going to be pretty pricey at a min. $100/pp chage for food and beverage.

Any other ideas I can share with her on which Rockey Mountain venue to check out in Alberta? If you had your wedding in the rockies, what did you love most about your particular venue?

    aah KHMR.  LOVE that place.  Have you looked into Jasper Park Lodge or the Banff Springs Hotel?  Emerald Lake Lodge also does small weddings.

    I am having my reception at the Lake Louise Inn.  not badly priced, and you don't have to book a min number of rooms.

    We're having our reception @ The Banff Park Lodge.....it's such a good price!

    We are also having ours at the Banff Park Lodge and so far everything is reasonable and everyone has been great to deal with! No min number bookings either for rooms etc....

    We're looking into Canmore rather than Banff Park.  I have so many people coming in from out of town that I didn't want to add another expense to their list with Park Gate Fees.  I prefer Canmore as it's a smaller homey feeling rather than Banff's over commercialized everything.  Plus if my guests really want they can drive the 15 minutes and bum around Banff the next day.

    The venue we're looking at booking is the Radisson, but we were considering booking at one of those Condo rental places too (like the Grande Rockies Resort).  A lot of them seem to be getting into providing event space for smaller groups (some up to 90 people), and I like the idea that my family guests can make it feel more like home and split a 2 or 3 bedroom suite to reduce their overall travel costs.

    Have you looked into The Jasper Park Lodge? JPL is the perfect Mountain Wedding location for any season. The Jasper Park Lodge offers a variety of different options and can work with a budget.
