Affordable downtown Denver?

Hi ladies,

I am a new Knottie and could REALLY use your help. I'm looking for an afordable reception venue in downtown Denver. Our style is hip, modern, and a little off-beat so we would love something with an urban feel that we could really make our own. I guess to describe our style, we're planning something similiar to what you may find on the blog Brooklyn Bride.

We looked at The Curtis Hotel but the $$$ got out of hand so now we would appreciate some other suggestions.

Thanks!

Have you tried the Walker Art Gallery? I'm not sure on the cost but it seems like the feel you're going for. Also, Mile High Station has a pretty cool urban feel to it.

I'm not sure if it would fit your 'vibe' quite as well but we're having ours at the Westin Tabor Center in the Augusta Room (floor to ceiling windows so you can see Downtown Denver). The price looks intimidating but almost everything is included! Linens, alcohol, cocktail pianist, cake, wedding suite, etc...

    Hope this helps!

I second Mile High Station!  Although I remember it being big, so it would depend on how many guests you're having.  I also considered the Denver Art Museum and the Museum of Nature and Science.  HTH!

I'm not sure what your take on affordable is, but we had our reception at the Magnolia Hotel in the Club Room. The Club Room is a great venue in my opinion for a hip/fun/different location.  Many of our guests are still commenting on how much they loved it.

Also, like the PP commented, a lot of stuff is included because it is a hotel venue (linens, suite the night of the wedding, etc) and there is some room to negotiate on some things (we did).

Thank you all for the suggestions! I have added them to my list! I'm starting to think a downtown wedding will cost quite a bit of cash no matter where it is held...although we are staying away from places like The Ritz! :)

Roughly speaking, what have you ladies found to be the ballpark for some of these venues?

    Thanks!

If you want to e-mail me, I can send you the catering menus that I used (with prices) as well as give you a little more info on my experience with the Magnolia hotel.

Turnhalle at the Tivoli is very affordable. Very similar to Mile High Station and probably a quarter of the cost

These suggestions are amazing! Thank you all :) However (uh oh)...

I think we're now thinking of doing an outdoor wedding! My guy really wants all of our guests to see how gorgeous Denver is during the summer.

All I can come up with is Denver Botanic Gardens. Thoughts?

    THANKS!
