Melting down gold?

My fiance has his dad's gold band, but it's way too big.  Does anyone know if there is a jeweler in MA/NH that can melt down the gold band and reshape it so it fits him?

    I don't know anything about melting down the whole band to reshape it but I do know that almost all jewelers will resize a band. Have you checked into having it resized?

    EB Horn in Boston melted down a gold band and reshaped it for me.  I think most jewelry stores can do this though.

    My fiance had wanted a silver band so I was hoping we could incorporate his dad's gold into a 2-toned band.  I'll check EB Horn, thanks!

    I had Mouradian jewlers make my husband's band.   He also bought a bunch of old gold peices from me.  He does beautiful work.  He is in the jewelers building in Boston.  I can't wait to have something else made.
