House Update

Well, here i sit...still waiting on these sellers to accept or reject my offer. I thought it was bad business practice for a realtor to not call or contact or anything...and so far their realtor has SUCKED at contacting mine. Im really appauled by this process. its been a week of waiting, and while its not a long time, i dont see how a 2500 dollar decision is so difficult for these people. it really pisses me off.
Anyway, maybe its not meant to be.

Re: House Update

  • There isn't a time limit on when they must reply? When we were selling, we had 48 to either counter offer, reject, or accept. I would find this unacceptable. They must not be very interested in selling their house if they haven't responded. I would have your realtor find out WTH is going on. If I were you, I would keep looking. Either the seller has other offers or they are having second thoughts. We made an offer on a house and after a bit of counter offering, they accepted, to rejecting a few days later saying they were not selling at this time. The house had been on the market for a year! We were upset for sure, but we went back to another house we liked and bought that one.  And we're happy for the way it turned out. Either way, your realtor has GOT to find out what's going on.
  • shes been calling and hounding them...but its been a week and nothing. their realtor said his wife just had a baby and whatnot like this week but i drove by and saw both cars in the driveway so someone is def home. they are jsut avoiding us.

  • I'm pretty sure there is a 24-48 hour window of time in which an offer has to be accepted/rejected. It should state that somewhere on the docs you signed making the offer. Check out the paperwork and bug your realtor a little bit more :) If the time frame has passed, the offer could be considered null. That is for a regular sale though, if it's a short sale the time frame may be different since it involves banks. If this is a regular sale and this is the behavior than unfortunately it may be time to move on to the next house and not waste your time with these people. I'd be livid. Good luck!

  • I agree with what PPs said about the time limit.  I'd keep looking!
