If you want tall ceilings and hall of springs is booked you should check out classe caterings new space in downtown albany on pearl street.  the website is www.11northpearlevents.com we almost switched our reception from wolferts roost but its brand new and didn't want to risk timing.  van patten golf club in clifton park may also be something you like, the room is pretty nice there too.

Thanks!  I actually just got a quote from them!  I'm considering Wolferts Roost as well right now.  And I'm looking at The State Room.  Don at Wolferts Roost is actually the one who told me at 11 North Pearl.  I am a little concerned about it being brand new though, and about the off-site catering.  I'm also going to look at Riverstone Manor. When is your wedding?  Do you have out of town guests coming?  And if so, what hotel are they staying in?

My wedding is this weekend (yay!) at Wolferts Roost and 99% of my guests are from out of town.  74 state hotel (really nice boutique hotel) has a connection with wolferts roost and will give you a great deal on a block of rooms.  We have almost the entire hotel, so i'm sure that helped our rate but its still very reasonable ($105 per night) compared to the crown plaza and the hampton inn downtown. I planned in less than a year and didn't have too many options but we ended up choosing wolferts roost because they dont' do that many weddings a year (18-20) and its much more personalized.  Don has worked with us considerably to personalize everything.I can send you pics after the wedding if you'd like to see the recpeption 'in action' if you page me your email.  GL.

Oh - and I loved the stateroom online, but hated it in person.  Its pretty small, and the cocktail hour and reception are all in the same place, too cramped for us personally.  I'm not sure if its still the same two women but they were the worst we met with from any of the 10+ venues we looked at.  Not that they dont' do a good job, because I can't speak to that, but I felt like they were trying to sell me a used car.  Too much sales pitch and it really turned us off.  It does have the tall ceilings though, and if you only have around 100 guests it may really suit your needs.

I am getting married at the Roost this spring! If you have any pictures to share, I'd love to see them!
