I was there last month for a reception and it is very nice! The food was really good! McHale's provides food for a lot of halls in N KY so they have a good reputation. I think they even are an option for Drees Pavillion so they are definitely well known for a reason! Good luck with your planning!
I have to agree, Drees Pavillion is nicer than the Gardens at Park HIlls for the same price. Because it's nicer, Drees Pavillion is nearly all booked every Saturday in Spring and Summer 2011 already as of last week! I was disappointed.
The Drees is on a different price level than the Gardens. It's now $5000 just to rent the building on a Saturday, not including anything catering wise. I originally booked there. I'm not a fan of McHales based on my tasting there, but I wonder if it wouldn't be better on site.
clearheavens - the Drees Pavillion is NOT the same price as the Gardens of Park Hills. I think for Drees Pavillion, you are paying more for the view/location.
