Weekend

How was everyone's weekend?  Bridgett, I read your post; sorry about the stress -- it will all be over soon and you will have such a great day and honeymoon!

I had a little breakdown on Saturday.  We ended up switching my bachelorette party last week to a date that was easier for me; everyone was fine with the switch except that my MOH was out of the country and we couldn't get in touch with her.  We are going to a dance party/show in NYC that we need tickets for, so it was a bit of an ordeal to switch it and they needed to know THAT day if we wanted to switch it.  So after checking with her sister, mother, and 2 friends who all said it should be fine and they didn't know of any plans that couldn't be changed, my BM switched the date.  I was very happy.

MOH came home on Saturday and found out the date switch and cannot go b/c she's planned a trip to California and can't (won't?) switch it.  Now my poor BM is trying to switch the party back at my request, but the ticket people weren't that nice last time, so it kind of seems unlikely that they'll do it.

I was really upset about the whole thing and barely slept on Saturday.  Now I'm doing a little better.  We should find out the final verdict today.  We met with our pastor that is marrying us yesterday to go over the actual service, and that was helpful to me because it reminded me of why we're really doing all of this and what actually matters.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this drama.  Remember that you can't please everybody... the harder you try the more miserable you will end up being yourself.  I know you really want your MoH there, but at some point you will have to just pick a date and go for it... if people can't make it, it's their loss.  I had this issue with my b-party too... everyone argued for weeks about the date and I (several times) just said effff it, no party.  Finally one of my BMs just picked a date and that was it.  If you can make it, great... if you can't... the party will go on.  None of the OOT BMs were able to go, but had we waited for a date that would accommodate everyone... it never would have happened.

I wanted to tell you that this sentiment from you......

was really lovely.... sometimes we all get a little caught up in the festivites and forget what really matters.  Thank you for putting it in writing.... it helped me to read it!!!

Same goes for you! Sorry about your stress, but like Monica said, you can;t please everyone. Josh and I both had people that couldnt make ours and its a bit upsetting but it happens. If they can make it to the wedding, thats all that really matters.

My weekends actually got a lot better. After my meltdown about the venue, I went to my moms and her and I and her bff (also my MOHs mom) started working on centerpieces (all put together, boxed and ready to go!) and table #s and escort cards. Those are almost done. Ill have them finished Wednesday afternoon for sure and Ill try and get everything set up to show you guys! So I was up till 3am working on them when I got the call from Josh to pick him up dt. He had a great lead, followed by an iffy early evening, into a shitty night. His BM who planned the whole thing told him at 230 theyd have a limo to pick them up dt and take them to some other bar that would be open til 4:30 (b/c he knew the owner) well, 2am came around and BM had bailed quietly and went home wih the excuse (given when Josh called to see where he was) "Dude, I have a wife at home waiting for me" Thanks BM, what am I, dog meat?!

So we went to bed around 5am (b/c Josh was that angry) and had to be to breakfast at 9am with his grandfathre who is in from NC. Needless to say yesterday was a loooooooong day. But we went out to our venue and got everything taken care of, Josh booked some excursions to keep us busy on our HM, I got my MOHs gifts, and I was in bed before dark (weird!)

Thanks for your cheery notes, ladies.

I have an update!  Because my BM is AWESOME (and a good truth-bender), she talked the ticket people into switching it again.  The party is officially back to Aug 20th and my MOH will be able to attend.  We will not be switching it again.  It's not as convenient for me as the weekend before, but I figured out a way for it to work amidst my other travel and dress fittings and stuff.  It's really important to me that my MOH be there and now she will be!  Very relieved.

My weekend was lazy, for the most part. I slept a lot on Saturday and stayed home until about 4:30. I left to go meet up with two September 2011 knotties at Carousel, one of which being Emie! :) That was fun.

Sunday I did laundry and grocery shopping.
