No one drops dead from cardiac arrest at 32 unless something wacky is going on. I'm not saying that it couldn't be caused by something legit, but my first thought was, "massive amounts of blow." And maybe it's wrong of me to make that assumption, because she's famous. But it's really hard to give anyone in Hollywood the benefit of the doubt when it comes to drug use and dropping dead at 32.

I beg to differ. It could've been completely natural. She could've had a heart condition for all you know. Doesn't automatically mean drugs or abuse - though I'm inclined to think in her case years of looking like a skeleton may have something to do with it, it's not unheard of for cardiac arrest early in life.
No, it's not unheard of to have a heart attack at 32. Yes, there are plenty of legitimate reasons she could have gone into cardiac arrest. I just happen to not think that's the case. I might be wrong. People surprise me all the time.
I read an article in, I believe, Rolling Stone a few years ago. It was about how rough of a life Brittany was leading- she was doing a lot of drugs, and living in this really squalid apartment. I think this was all before she got married. She has been looking pretty bad the past couple of years.
Her drug use was not much of a secret, nor her eating disorders. So I'm sure that is ultimately the reason.
Still sad though. I loved so many of her movies...especially Spun and Girl Interrupted.
I am especially sad because I had read that she was very strongly attached to her mother. I think her mom still lived with her. She always said the most beautiful things about her in interviews. Too bad it was not enough to keep her sober.
Goes to show that fame and money do not make you happy.
I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

Oh, I didn't know her mom found her... how horrible.
Sascha, I saw what you wrote on yesterday's thread, and I'm really sorry to hear about your family. I hope you weren't too upset by stupid comments.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Thanks beatles:) I get the part about having negative feelings towards people with addiction issues, but to devalue their lives because of it is so frustrating. I am sure that those who struggle with things like this in their lives hate themselves enough already. Many brilliant, loving people struggle with addiction.
Mery...I love that movie! It was awesome and had a great cast. She played the role very well, and Mickey Rourke was great too.
Totally late to this thread, but I was just reading that apparently anorexia was the likely cause of her heart attack? It's a pity that Hollywood's view of beauty is so very skewed.
In any case, I feel very sorry for her family (and for that matter, anyone who loses someone with such little notice). She was so young.
