Re: Table number

  • We used Bible Verses that dealt with marriage as table names for our rehearsal dinner.

  • I just used numbers.  Numbers are easy for people to find.  What's cute is to do photos of the number.  Brie (mod on Registering and Gifts) did photos of her cats with a wooden number.  I just printed them, with the numeral on one side and the word on the other side.  Photos in my planning bio.

  • I love historic houses and our wedding is going to be in Charleston, SC, so we are doing names of popular historic houses in Charleston (i.e. Aiken-Rhett, Nathaniel Russell, ect)
  • This just gave me a cute idea! FI and I haven't had our engagement photo shoot yet and won't be able to until March, 3 months before the wedding. I think it would be cute to include pictures of us holding up numbers and use those are our table numbers!

Our initial idea was to name the tables after places that have been important to us as individuals, before we met. We believe that everything that has happened so far in our lives as individuals happened so that our paths would eventually cross. So we wanted to show that through the table names, and also embrace our continued path in life as a couple. I hope that makes sense :)

  • CrazyMary, this is what we were going to do.....run around Chicago and take pictures of us in front of Chicago Landmarks and we'd hold up signs that would say "Table #".

After thinking about it, though, I think it will be hard for the guests to see the sign especially if we're trying to get fit Sears Tower in the background...we'll be really small in the picture.  So we're going to adapt a bit.  We're not going to be holding signs, but we'll be holding up the number of fingers to match the table. Then, because we know this is even harder for the guests to see at first, we're going to have them matted with an 8x10 mat and stencil paint the table # on the mat in a larger silver paint (the mats will be chocolate brown).

I think it'll be cute for the guests to see you and FI in the photos!
