How long are you waiting....

to go on your honeymoon? FI and I are getting married on a Saturday and leaving for Paris that Monday....but I've heard a lot of people taking their HM later. If you're taking it later, what is the reason? Financial? Job-related?

Either way, it's a honeymoon! So exciting

We married at the beginning of July and went on our honeymoon in January. We'd originally planned a spring honeymoon (Italy) because we wanted the nicest weather possible. But, by November, we were aching to get away. So, we quickly planned a Caribbean honeymoon -- 8 days in Aruba. Lovely. Just lovely!

We are getting married on Saturday and leaving on Monday. We wanted to give us a day to relax before the crazyness of leaving for Europe.

We waited 3 weeks. The cruise we booked for the South Pacific did not leave until then. It was WELL worth the wait. We do it all over again in a heart beat.

As of yet we haven't planned one...we're on a tight budget as is (getting married on a Wednesday in August) but one of sisters is moving to Hawaii(!) this September for a year to work on her doctorate and I've already promised to visit so we may get our special vacation yet...

We are getting married in August, and waiting until the first week of November!!

We are waiting for multiple reasons:
1) We live in MN and it is still pretty warm in August/Sepember and sometimes October, we want to go when it is COLD so we know we can WARM UP!!

2) We have weddings this whole summer/fall and don't really want to miss any
3) Hurricane Season (we are going to Florida)
4) We will be able to afford the honeymoon better in November than close to our wedding.
5) FI didn't want to risk not having enough "catchup" time at work. Whenever he takes PTO, everything that he doesn't do is waiting for him when he gets back, so he didn't want to double up wedding and honeymoon at once!!
