Escort Cards

So, once the remaining 25 people finally RSVP (annoying), I am going to have to deal with the seating chart and escort cards.  I was just wondering what you all did (or are planning on doing) for escort cards.  I have no plan yet.

Also, we did have meal choices and people were supposed to initial what their choices were; of course, most just put a number next to each choice.  I don't particularly want to call everyone and ask who wanted which meal.  Is it OK to put the parties together on the escort card?  I think I'm going to designate the meals with a small sticker or something along those lines.

I think it is perfectly fine to put couples together. I ran out of creativity once escort cards came around, but I ended up being pretty satisfied with our choice. I just printed out everyone's name (single or couple) on shiny paper we had left over from programs. Then I cut out each name on a piece of paper about the size of a buisness card. I found a decorative flower hole punch that went with our theme and, depending upon whether it was for a single or a couple, punched one or two holes on either side. I put colored cardstock behind each hole. Each color indicated the meal choice. Children got diamond stickers. I thought it worked well and looked pretty when layed out together. GL - I think stickers will be fine and much easier than the cardstock too!

I'm not sure about couples on cards. But, that makes me wonder b/c I'm developing my invites now. Should I have on there, "Please initial next to meal choice." Or something else?? Otherwise, how do you know who got what?

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.

My RSVP cards say "Please initial next to meal choice," but they still put the numbers.  I don't know unless I feel compelled to call them all up and ask what each person wanted, and I don't really want to do that.

I'm out of creativity and just want them done!

the escort cards are usually done per couple, so it doesn't really matter whether they initialed or not-you're going to mark each card with both choices anyways. the server will ask who ordered what for each couple as well. no need to call and ask people who wants what, totally unneccessary.

do you know at all what you're going to do for escort cards? with a week to go, might i suggest going to michael's, getting a pack of tent cards and printing on them? i began working on our escort cards as soon as the seating chart was done, which was about 3 weeks prior.

CCH, I remember yours, didn't you do the candles?  They were so cute, but I'm totally not that ambitious.

Can I do escort cards for families of like 5 too?  I've been to a total of maybe 3 weddings in my life, and never paid attention, of course.  And the seating chart hasn't even been started.  Yay procrastination!

yes, i did the votive escort cards. :)

we didn't invite children, but i did have a family of 3 (an older cousin that came with his parents but wasn't old enough to really get a card for just himself) and i put all 3 of them on the same card (candle?).

We have lots of college-aged kids and families who all live together and will show up together, so I got back RSVPs with 3 chicken and 2 steak or whatever.  I might just put them all on one card and let the servers sort it out.  I sort of don't care at this point.
