Just met with my seamstress!!

Exciting news! Just met with my seamstress... she is hemming my dress, taking it in and creating a bustle... cost were $285...is that normal?High? How much did you pay for your alteration? I think, my bustle is going to be difficult...since it's a long ruffled train and she spent a long time bustling it during my appointment... I'm supposed to be back on April 16th for the fitting...i miss my dress already!! :(

I think that's a good price. I only had a hem and very simple bustle done and I paid $185.
  • I think it's a great price. I got my dress at Saks in NYC, and alterations start at $450...for anything....even just a half inch hem!

  • Seems like a good price. I was quoted $300 just for the bustle and hem.

That's a pretty good price. My hem alone is $300, although that's because my dress has crazy layers, heh. But still, if I could have your price for everything I'd be a happy camper. :)

And I hear ya about miss your dress! I haven't seen mine since the end of November, I'm starting to get anxious!
  • I paid $800 which included her totally changing my bodice, taking out the silk, adding new silk, adding straps, the bustle, hem, a custom sash etc.
