Insanity Asylum or TurboFire

I've been doing the regular Insanity workout since November.  I did the first full rotation, and now I'm just doing random workouts here and there.  I still absolutely love this workout, but I kind of want to mix it up a bit.

I tried Brazil Butt Lift and I hated it.  It wasn't intense enough and I'm just not coordinated enough to do the moves.

I've thought about buying Insanity Asylum or TurboFire.  Have any of you tried either workout?  Reviews?  How would you compare them to Insanity (if you've tried that)?

Re: Insanity Asylum or TurboFire

  • I've never done Insanity but I LOVE Turbo Fire!  It's my go to workout when I can't get to the gym.  All the workouts are great, even the 15 minute HIIT workout makes you feel like you did much more than a 15 minute workout.

  • I haven't tried either, but I have a friend who has done both. She said that TurboFire is quite as intense as insanity. So, If you are looking for the same intensity it might not be right for you. Hopefully, someone with first hand experience will chime in. :)

  • I have done both turbo fire and insanity. turbo fire all the way!!!!!!!! I started with turbo jam, I loved it so much that I got turbofire and it really is such an amazing workout.  I sweat more doing turbo fire than I did doing insanity! It is such a blast, you should definitely order it!!!

    Thanks for your input ladies!

mels823 - "Turbo Jam" kind of makes me a little nervous - is TurboFire a dance-ish workout?  I didn't do enough research before buying Brazil Butt Lift and that ended up very dance-ish (and I absolutely hated it).

  • I also did Insanity (pre-engagement) twice as well and totally loved it. Shaun T is so great. I got the Asylum and I have to warn you, it is CRAZY hard. Not only that but you need a lot of props to do it (jump roap, floor ladder, weights). I would not recommend. After 2 weeks I gave up and never touched it since
  • Insanity really makes you sweat and is insane.  Although I didn't lose weight doing it, I was sweating like a maniac and felt much, much stronger.  My fiance and I are going to do one more round before our wedding!!! :)
  • I do Turbo Kick in the gym and Turbo Fire is supposed to be a step up from that, although after watching some of the workouts (and our instructor is a little nuts in a good way), I'm pretty sure our classes are right now par with Turbo Fire.  That being said, it is the single most fun, exhausting, sweat-inducing workout ever.  I love it so much that I ran off and got certified to teach after taking a 5 or so classes!  They are a little "dancey", but not so much that the moves detract from your workout all - just enough to make it fun.  I'd youtube it if I were you, or see if you can drop in on a Turbo Kick class to kind of get an idea of what's it's like.  Good lucky!
  • I did a hybrid of Turbo Fire and P90X (for the weight training) and it got me into amazing shape for my wedding! I love everything from Chalene Johnson :)
