money dance

I am thinking about doing a money dance at our wedding, but my venue does not allow shots.  I thought maybe I could do liquor filled candy.  Does anyone know where to find this kind of candy?  Or does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I could do besides shots?

We did a money dance and I know people think it is tacky... we made $400 and I got to talk and dance with everyone. It was fantastic!

Our venue also did not allow shots of liquor, but they did allow shots of mixed drinks, so that's what we did... shots of vodka and cranberry. :) GL

The only item I will not compromise on...my bouquet of all purple tulips wrapped in a swatch from my Mom's wedding dress.

My friend got married in Dec., they aren't big drinkers so they did little bags of hershey kisses instead. I think they said "hugs & kisses from the new mr & mrs"

So - if you don't mind me asking - what exactly is a money dance and what do you need shots for? haha! Sorry for being naive!

I've been at a wedding that had lottery tickets, I thought that was cute.

Can you order vokda on the rocks or something instead?

As for liquor filled candy I would just do a google search on those.

You could make cake balls and give those out in lieu of shots.

Perhaps your venue can compromise and do pucker shots or peach schnapps? The alcohol content is way lower than any vodka drink.

A money dance is a dance where the guests pay a dollar to dance with the bride and/or groom. Traditionally, the money is used to pay for a honeymoon (if memory serves me), and guests who pay usually receive a shot. Some people think it's tacky to ask for money, but when we talked to our DJ about it, he said it will honestly  be the only time during our day when we REALLY get to talk to our loved ones.

To be honest I never knew some people didn't do the money dance! I guess it's all in where your from. My family has always had the Bride and the Groom participate in the money dance, it makes it go so much faster and less stress on the bride!
