XP-Which dress?

So, before my FI and I scrapped our big wedding plans, I purchased two totally different wedding dresses.  My FI wanted something lacy, romantic and traditional for our wedding ceremony and I wanted something form fitted and with bling.  Now, we are going to Vegas and I don't know which dress to wear?!  Thoughts?

Dress one...the one based on what my FI said he wanted, in Ivory

Dress two...form fitting with bling, in the Silver Mist shown

**Side note, I have a long cathedral lace veil to go with dress one.  Is that too much for Vegas?  but dress two will be hard to transport...

I LOVE dress #2! I'm biased though since I'm not a lace person. Where are you getting married at?

I am not 100% of the name, but the same chapel where Jon Bon Jovi was married!  (ok, I am a die hard Bon Jovi fan!!)  Here's the link with a picture of the chapel.

I think I want to wear the Maggie dress, it is the one I purchased first.  Ugh...I need to just sell one and be done with it.  Anyway, advice on how to transport the Maggie dress if I go with that one?  I refuse to check it and am leary of carry on, but that may be my only option.   What about pressing and steaming if needed out in Vegas?

I like them both actually.  I'm more partial to #2 but only because I was a Maggie bride too.

Ditto what Ana said, where are you getting married at and what time of day?

You could ship it.  Ladies on here have used Debi at Fit for a bride to ship their dress, she has great reviews too.

I carried mine on and had it steamed in Vegas and then my MOH mom carried it back since she left a couple days before we did.

I like dress 2 a lot.  If you really like dress 1 do you think you could alter dress it for anything?  Reception dress or a TTD?

Ditto PP, I'm shipping my dresses to Debi and she'll deliver them to me steamed and ready to go.

Where did you have it steamed?

I'm going through Debi, my wedding is 4/14/12 and I'm sending my gown and a reception dress.  I was like you, not wanting to carry it on and this is way easier

It's Graceland Wedding Chapel.  I'm also getting married there in a couple of months :)  Looks like a nice little chapel.

Anyways I LOVE both dresses but they are completely different in style.  I think you should pick the one you love and feel the best in!  And by the sounds of it, i'm guessing that would be dress 2.  PP is right you might be better off altering dress 1 into a rehearsal dinner or reception dress?

Because you're getting married at Graceland Chapel (I got married there, too! :) I would skip the really fancy/detailed/lacey dresses and go with something more toned down to fit the look of the chapel TBH.  I loved the chapel, but the photographer isn't very good and with the camera/lense he uses the chapel comes out looking like it has this cheap feel to it, which would look rather odd with a super detailed expensive looking gown.

    Just my two cents...^^;;

    I like #1 best.

I am going to offer a different opinion here. Even though I am not a lace person and my dress is chiffon, I actually like dress #1 more than the second one. This particular style is so elegant and the lace seems very delicate and feminine. While the second dress I find too much (even though it is a LV wedding). If you are tall, then I vote dress 1! It is stunning.

As for the shipment, I am still to decide on how to transport mine as well. I may resort to shipping it ahead of time through Debi as well.

Let us know what you pick!

I am really partial to lace & love dress 1. Dress 2 is pretty poofy for me, lol. But ultimately, I feel you should wear what you feel best in. :)

I'm on team 1, but that's just because it's more my style. You have to go with what is best for YOU! They are both beautiful--in very different ways. Good luck deciding. :)

I am extremely biased to #1 because it is MY DRESS!!! I have it in ivory too! And I adore it!

I had a few alterations though. When they made the dress I requested that instead of a keyhole back it was completely covered in lace and buttoned up to the neck (like C150...I have a back covered in tattoos and didn't want that to be the focus when I walk down the aisle). In alterations we took all the tulle out of the bottom so it hangs straight down and doesn't poof out at all and we took in the cap sleeves a little to make it look more "sleeveless" and not so formal...

Anyway, my wedding is 3/10/12 and I have reservations with Debi at Fit for a Bride. I am shipping it to her 2 weeks before with my reception dress, rehearsal dinner dress, and Mom's dress. Everything will be steamed and ready to go when we get there!

I think for sure pick the one you absolutely love...but also keep in mind your FI's opinion...he is the one your wanting to impress! I think either would look great. And even if you go with #2, definitely ship to Debi and it will be a breeze!

I absolutely LOVE the Allure dress - it was one of my top choices but then again I love lace. :) I think you should wear the one you want to wear. Even though he says he wanted something lacey and romantic he will think you look beautiful no matter what! The Maggie one does fit Vegas/evening ceremony too so go with your gut!
